This is simply some information to have on hand JUST IN CASE your baby ain't waiting for nothing and decides they want to be birthed at home! I am not telling you how to deliver a baby nor am I telling you to have an unassisted home birth! BUT...there's info in here that might help you if baby is coming in hot and there's not time to get to where you intended to birth your baby!
Remember the MOST IMPORTANT thing is to call emergency services, wether that be 9-1-1 or another number if you live in a different country. Because the sooner you place that call the sooner help is coming! Make sure you follow their instructions as they will likely have you stay on the phone with them until help does arrive (and unlock that door for them too!)

Women and men alone won’t say words like placenta, breast feed, and they use different words to describe birth, it always makes me feel good when people actually use these words with No embarrassment, because we should all be more open to using words like these to describe our bodies and it should be as normal as saying arm or leg

This is good stuff. It's good for everyone to know. Babies can come anywhere at any time. When I was a child a lady in front of us in the bank actually had her baby come out while trying to deposit her check. All the ladies in the bank, as well as me and my mom helped deliver her right there in the bank.

Thank you for this video! Especially showing that women DO NOT have to lie flat on their backs to give birth and to keep the cord attached. Too many people still cut the cord too early (at least according to my post partum midwife and the head of L&D in the hospital I gave birth in), you are not supposed to cut it before it stops pulsing (under non-emergency circumstances), because it contains the babies blood and the baby needs this blood for a good start.

@jennyh4025

@@HolisticBanana333 a Lotus birth is a birth where the placenta is kept attached until it falls off. To wait until it stops pulsing and is white is often called „delayed cutting of the cord“, because it’s done later than the standard „baby is out, let’s cut“ in many hospitals. And if you accidentally give birth without a medical professional, it’s better to keep it attached until it can be cut off by a medical professional in non-emergency cases.

And then fifteen minutes later the midwife beat the ambulance into the house by 5 seconds😅. My placenta didn't want to come out, though. It might have been the stream of volunteer firefighters and two ambulances worth of paramedics who were just delighted to see a healthy baby instead of the carnage they usually see, and I felt a bit public. But it came out eventually. One of the guys was super impressed with our "set up", he said "having the baby at home is WAY better than the side of the road! This is nice." 😂

They told her to go home and wait. 2 hours later she had my nephew at home, in the bathtub. A really young couple were coming to church for several months but her baby wasn’t due for another few weeks yet. She came out of the bathroom with her little girl with a shocking look on her face. She handed the child off to me and asked someone to bring her husband. Her water had broke and she squatted against the wall. We had clean blankets and a cot brought down from the nursery though we were rushing around, the baby was born after barely one push! This all totaled maybe 15-20 minutes and long before any emergency support arrived. I left church that afternoon thinking, “it’s a natural thing that happens everyday!🤷🏼‍♀️ Edited to add she kept the placenta tucked safely in her sweatpants after I made sure the cord wasn’t twisted or being pulled.

I was in labor for 36 hours, 34 of which I was less than 5 centimeters. I went from 5.5 to “this baby is coming now” in less than an hour. This is my second kid, but he was a month early. The doc came in and said some shit about getting his head over the lip of my cervix, followed by his hand and the worst pain ever in my life. I felt such relief when he stopped. (No epidural, no nothing) anyway classic story, he said he’ll be right back and I’m left in the room with 2 or 3 nurses who are still scrambling to get everything set up because like I said, less than an hour ago I was still only 5cm. I felt the overwhelming need to push and this being my second child and having been there for a day and a half already with little sleep, no food, and only told 90mins ago that I’d have to have a c section if this doesn’t progress, (mostly what catapulted me going from 5 to 10cm was me getting pissed off about this, that no one had said anything about no damn c section) I decided that this has to happen NOW, because I’m not gonna have the strength to push for 2.5 hours like I did w my first. Well, I only pushed for 14 minutes. I got up doggy style on the bed, did some cat/cow stuff and just started screaming and blocked out everything around me. I felt him crown, I felt his head go, I felt his shoulders slide down, and then I reached both hands between my thighs and caught him myself, brought him up to the middle of the bed under my chest, cried for a few seconds and then pulled the umbilical cord around and flipped over with him in my arms, waiting for the nurses to do something other than stare at me. The doctor dude then comes back and clearly I have done this without him so he just said something like congrats mama and left again. My son was born VERY VERY purple and NICU took him pretty quick after that, and we didn’t get him home until two weeks later, but that’s a story for another time. I’m just saying women need to know these things and while there is no substitute for experience, women’s reproductive education is lacking beyond “here’s how you get pregnant”. I felt like with my first I was terrified and my second I was like “yeah I got this” Btw he is four months old now and totally fine!

This is unbelievably good information. It should be much more standard to learn these things. We often just imagine pregnancy and labor as, "ope, my water broke, my partner will now drive me to the hospital in more than enough time" but there are so many scenarios that this situation could happen in. Labor is insane and chaotic and can happen very quickly, and you may not have time to go to the hospital. Part of all birthing classes and any sort of training involved in giving birth should include learning what to do if you can't make it to the hospital or don't have a doula/midwife/trained professional present. Someone I knew gave birth in her bathroom. Her husband had called an ambulance and they had fully given birth right as the ambulance pulled into the driveway. Also important DO NOT PULL OR TUG ON THE CORD! If the placenta doesn't come away, leave it. Don't try to get it to come out. You can end up hemorrhaging, causing injury to your uterus or causing it to invert. I accidentally gave birth at home and my placenta would not come away at all. I ended up having to have it surgically removed. You can't see inside your uterus so there is no way of knowing what is going on with your placenta. Be careful ladies! ❤️

I have had to talk SO many totally freaked out people thru animal births. Every species is different….we gotta deliver 4 legged hooved babies, possibly a dozen babies at once (that may or may not be an unknown bakers dozen), as well as removing stuck eggs and picking babies out of shells sometimes. We should definitely have more gratitude for our feathered friends that ovulate baby sized eggs daily for us. Reproduction is amazing and magical along with all life. We should learn to love each other more and help each other out…. Earth life ain’t easy! ❤

It’s so sad to me that decades of hospitalized birth has made women feel as if they aren’t allowed to trust their bodies and birth the way they choose. For some, this video is the only labor and birthing process they know. Many women believe this is “dangerous” The best place and way to labor and deliver your baby is wherever momma feels safe and empowered to make her own choices. If momma and baby are healthy and it’s an uncomplicated pregnancy, home birth is a beautiful and amazing experience.

Because its difference, in older times our bodies and complexities were very different. In fact a whole lot of things with our body had changed. Through a decade a lot of things change due to evolution. So we need modern medicine now than we did in the last century. Without it many mothers as well as babies would suffer a lot of complications and the mortality rate would be way higher. If you aren’t aware of it in many countries with advanced infrastructure for medical supervises still the infant and maternal mortality rates are high for their level. So don’t be too sure, many things can go wrong. It always important to be on the safe side and not stubborn to prove I am women, be mindful instead.
@cupcake1406
@cupcake1406 7 ай бұрын
Just because you have an uncomplicated pregnancy does not mean you will have an uncomplicated labor and delivery. Many women and babies lives have been saved because of modern medicine and interventions ( C-sections). During labor and delivery when things go bad, they go bad fast and you need high skill medical professionals available to intervene on the be half on the mother and/or baby. Unfortunately, that would not be available during a home birth by a midwife. Safety should be the highest priority.

YES!!! I wish this was common knowledge. I almost lost my grandson because his cord was clamped and cut immediately after birth. There's so much happening directly after the baby emerges from the womb. A miraculous transition is occurring between baby and placenta. When the cord is clamped it stops the flow of blood and everything in that blood that the baby desperately needs. In my grandson's case, it nearly cost him his life.

This has honestly happened to me with 2 out of my 4 live births and the little demonstration is 100% accurate. Love the little plushie placenta. 😂

I remember waking up to my stepmom groaning and knocking everything over as she stumbled to the bathroom at three in the morning. My youngest sister was born five minutes later.

This was exactly my last birth experience with my 5th son. Fortunately I was able to do this with my midwife’s guidance over the phone until she arrived. They come when they are ready. This video is so helpful and informative. Thanks for sharing this ❤

This right here❣️ Be ause the truth is, some women do have their babies home alone. Not everyone has support and not every woman trust people to help her at such a critical time. These tips are super important. Thanks❣️

My husband was a planned home birth with a midwife. His dad was a librarian and read a book on delivering a baby, and thought it didn't sound hard. Husband was baby number 2, known to come faster than expected. Sure enough, dad delivered him before the midwife arrived.

I was born at home in 1998 😂 my mom was almost halfway pushing me out when the midwife came in and pushed me back because the cord was around my neck. I was like a cannon ball. Then when I was born my moms friend with her baby came in and the midwife asked her if she wanted to cut the cord 😂😂😂 Then they had some coffee. It's always funny when I hear that story.

I was supposed to deliver at a birth centre, but my son was in a rush and didn't want to leave home. He still loves being at home lol, but at least the midwives were there in the nick of time. Everyone was like that was the fastest first baby 😂😂😂

Omg this was me- you don’t want to think this would ever happen with your plans for the hospital, but my son was almost born at home. I was having ‘Braxton hicks contractions’ a few months before my due date- I was giving myself SUCH a hard time mentally ‘women go through ACTUAL labor, and you can’t handle these fake contractions?!?’ until at one point I quite literally saw hair and a head! I was in so much pain I had to be carried down the stairs and to the vehicle. We live about 10 mins from the hospital- once we were there my son was born within five minutes. The doctors were NOT ready, and my baby and I were a bit of a local story for a while because the hospital did NOT birth babies- I didn’t give them much of a choice though 😂 my mother in law dropped us off at the emergency room door, she parked her car, grabbed her purse and walked into the hospital. She said to the security guard ‘I’m not sure if she’s having her baby today we think it’s just fake contractions’ the security guard replied with ‘I just heard a baby ma’am, I think she already had the baby’ 😮 😅 we had some complications initially but my son is almost 6 and doing very well now 😊

Tina, you rock! I can’t imagine how many women/couples and in the end babies lives you will have blessed by making your Yt Shorts clips. I would bet it’s far more profound than you think! Each room is very well done! Very entertaining and quite educational. You must be an exceptional nurse! I have tried to be that kind of nurse for my entire career. God Bless you!

Thankyou so, so much for emphasizing the importance of medical guidance while also providing support and confidence until they arrive! I unfortunately have experience with women who who say things like “your body knows what to do”/other phrases that imply nothing actually goes wrong or happens unexpectedly, when that’s not true and especially Not. The. Point. It’s okay to ask for/need expert help, be scared, etc!
