Hannah you have come into the homes of so many of us. And here I am. A 65 yea old retired nurse. Major health problems starting to kick in. Don't get out or socialize. But I feel more connected and less lonely watching this adorable blond forest sprite staining wood and building and dancing and living her life without restrictions and fears. And now you made me cry a little. I really appreciate you. Thank you for sharing your life with us-with me.

Thank you for your nursing services from my heart. Really and truly. My sister was a Practical Nurse (she got burnt out) and my Mom is a PSW and I truly appreciate health workers and nurses everywhere. One of my fave persons is a retired nurse who kept on working til she turned 80. She started her career at 20 or 21. She retired almost three years ago now. I cried my eyes out when I went in one day and she was no longer there to greet me with her spunky attitude. She is just plain good as they come, you know? Anyway you are truly appreciated. Enough about me! My goodness. I just hope that you're health maintains well and good. It struck a chord in my heart is why I wanted to write a comment to your comment. Hannah is a super duper funny chick. And she has also inspires me too. Like you and thousands others, I like her videos. One more thing -- I may have cried a little too at the end of this one. Actually I did indeed! Cheers Eleivana! May this message find you happy today. Star Sackaney

Wood heats you 3 times: once when you cut it, once when you stack it, and once when you burn it. Good job!
@ConfutoDespartus3 жыл бұрын
For the wood pile: You may want to move it to the shed on the side of the cabin. You want to keep your wood out of the snow and rain, to ensure it stays as dry as possible. If you leave it where it is, I'd put a tarp on the outer sides to protect it, but don't fully cover the pile. You want air flow, and wind is good for it, and fully covering it will trap moisture in and cause mold. Also for stoves! If you get a new one, you should look into Aga stoves. Theyre a bit pricey, but they can be left running all by themselves 24/7 because they self regulate their heat and fire, so it'd solve your overnight heat problem!
@shawnwacek67913 жыл бұрын
Exactly right 100% right on the woodpile idea same for the idea of the stove
@andeekaydot3 жыл бұрын
Yes, my suggestion, too, would be to exchange that stove for something more efficient. That thing seems a hell of a wood eater: Might even keep the cabin warm if you feed it real plenty. So those 2 cords will be gone very fast once it's getting cold!
@donnaleeclubb1193 жыл бұрын
I am no winter person, being from the South and only living in the South, BUT I would think you would have to keep that inside another area or keep it under some kind of porch-like place to keep it dry. Also, I would worry about smaller animals crawling underneath to keep warm. I live on a piece of property that had stacks of wood in the back of it when I moved in. I got rid of it immediately because I thought snakes or mice might nest in it.
@mathisj65823 жыл бұрын
I live in Norway. We have winter pretty much from oktober until april. (at least where I live) We store our wood in the barn/shed whatever its called. Its important to protect it from the elements. But thats under the requriement that its dry when you put it in there. We usually store it outside during the summer with something covering the TOP of it, to keep it resonably dry when it rains, and then we mobe it inside the barn/shed/whatever when its dry. So yeah... Keep it protected. Makes it sooo much easier for yourself in the vinter when you are trying to burn it.... And yeah... One last thing. When you think you have enough... Get some more. Its amazing how much wood you burn through. Even more so if you live in an old house, not so well insulated. My house is build in the 1920s. So... Its not perfect. (as a guesstimate I'd say I burn about 15 to 20m3 each year. If you use m3/cubic meter in the States. Its like 1meter x 1meter x 1meter = 1m3.. But I guess you dont use meter, either... So Just Google it. 😁😁👌👏

Tell you, Hannah: That is gonna happen in real life, too. People will always watch you when stacking firewood. My neighbour and me have been experiencing this thru many years. Each and every time these 20 qubic metres of wood had been dumped in the driveway, people from across the street would just look, or would have occasional work to do in their yards glimpsing over, come along for a chat, or even with a plate full of bread rolls, hot sausages, or/and a crate of beer in the evening when all was cleared up again... Stacking firewood seems to be a labour somewhat archaic, almost mythic :-)

Never squat or knell at the base/trunk of any tree when it's falling, even in very small trees without a proper "undercut" in the direction of the fall a tree can do what's called "Barberchair" and the trunk of the tree will split vertically and come back and hit you in the face. And even trees that small can break jaws, knock out teeth, and in extreme cases you could get killed, just do some research on the term "Barberchair" and falling trees. Great video 👍

@lifeinthecountrysidehome3 жыл бұрын
Hey Hannah, here is a tip to keep you warmer at night using your wood stove. We heat solely with our wood stove also. We live out in the rural countryside in Ontario Canada. We have a regular wood pile with split wood then we have a pile with unsplit logs but cut the size to fit inside the stove. At night we put those large logs into the wood stove. They burn slower and keep the fire burning longer. Thus you have more heat at night when you are sleeping. Also shift your damper to the smallest opening. This will let less air in causing the wood to burn slower .
@00wn3 жыл бұрын
Yup....here in New Hampshire we call those logs " All-Nighters "

You definitely have inspired me to just be happy with myself and being alone. My fiance passed away of cancer back in 2013. I literally was planning my own suicide. I still had a daughter to raise though and I have four kids all together.. three were adults and my youngest was only about 10 years old at that time.. so I snapped the hell out of it ,but that doesn't mean I wasn't depressed ,because I still am to this day. I'm just trying not to be selfish in wanting to Snuff my life out as I wanted to back then. Fast forward to the now. I reconnected with an old boyfriend from 1995. I think he has a very good Heart but he is a narcissist ,has turned into one... Anyway since the last time I saw him. I painted a pretty picture of him thinking that he loved me as much as I did him but it's all a lie. I'm trying to move forward and just try to be happy by myself and you are inspiring me to quit being a jerk and wallowing in self-pity because I'm sick of doing that. I'm sick of being put on the back burner with this guy I'm with right now. It's ridiculous and I've been even more depressed probably since I've met up with him back in 2016. So sorry this is so long but I'm trying to get my mojo back as in just being happy again. This big beautiful planet we live on is something to go explore and I need to quit being so sad all the time because it is eating me up and I feel like it's just being selfish I guess, I don't know... I walk around the house talking to myself a lot but I do have a huge 120 lb Great Pyrenees dog and three cats that are my buddies right now, lol! Life is wonderful to have. my fiance that passed away wanted to live so badly, and did not want to leave me and it was the most horrific thing I have ever gone through in my life. I thought a miracle would happen and he would live. But it didn't. and yes I am going to get back into my happy place again and watching your videos and your projects has made me so happy and gives me hope. thank you so very much again Hannah and I'm so sorry this is so long.....❤️

Hello sister friend! I am 57, mom of 3, going through a divorce, and a lifetime of crap. I have recently been in a very similar place as you. I’ve had to work really, really hard to survive. I’ve been surrounded by narcissists all of my life. It gets into your head, into your heart. First, my friend, you must find a therapist- wherever, however- there are community places for free or cheap. You need a helping hand. This is really heavy stuff, and no one can sort their way through it alone! No shame in that! That’s just how we are made- to need each other. Seek it out. Please. You deserve to give yourself everything you need to recover, so you can move on. It won’t happen just willing yourself through it, it’s not a matter of selfishness, or self control, or any of that junk. You’re a human being who is hurting and you need a bit of a lift from another human being. 💝 And then you can get on with the business of reinventing yourself for the 2nd act! And while it is scary, I am finding that it is so, so fun! There was nothing left to look forward to in my life, but now I am discovering a whole new me. I am finding that I can dare to do things I would never have thought I could! It has been a hard struggle and a scary one. But, you know as well as I do, there is nothing scarier or harder than where we have been. It’s time to let go of the pain and embrace the future. I believe in you. You can do this! Please talk to a therapist! It really does help! I wish you strength, peace, and happiness!

First of all, serious, life threatening suicide is something you may not be able to "snap out of". I encourage you to call a suicide hotline and they may be able to give you resources for mental health help. There is no shame in that. If you are not doing the best in your mental health, it will be very hard to mother anyone properly, though you will try. The LAST thing you should do is start ANY relationship because you need to grieve and worry about you and your children. It will be very hard to follow this advice because you want comfort at this saddened time of your life. Because of that, you may be susceptible to emotional predators and not realize it. Not to sound preachy, but call the mental health hotline or speak to a pastor, priest, minister, find a good large church that also may have resources for you if you don't have monetary resources to find a good therapist. Be well. Prayers for you.

The Corona-Situation in your country (i think) is terrible enough, so at least you have a save place to stay and don't worry about where to stay (park) and so on :-) Have a nice and cozy christmas-time! Lovely Greetings from snowy Austria to your snowy forest!

Im currently only allowing myself to watch happy, light hearted content, as a detox from toxic channels on YT. Just a tip for putting your duvet in your duvet cover is to turn your cover inside out and lay it out then lay your duvet on top. Then start rolling it from the top (without the zipper/buttons/ties) all the way to the bottom (with the zipper/buttons/ties). From there you grab the end of the roll from inside the duvet cover and flip it so it is back to the outside pattern. Do on the other side and roll out. Zip your zipper/button your buttons/ tie your ties and you're done. Hope this helps!

I don't know if you will see this, but I've been in a toxic home environment for the past 2 years and even though I can't afford it now, I plan to move out into a van and live life the way I want to live. Van life scared me, and just the idea of being ambitious with what I want out of life has petrified me, but seeing you live my dream has really motivated me. You are 2 years older than me and you are absolutely glowing! It gives me hope for the future. Thank you, Hannah.
