awesome this! would be cool if you could make a workflow vid sometime, to see how you make this stuff!

Totally. Most of vids show rather simple 4:4 grid music. Your stuff seems to be more complex and I'm just curious how this might be approached on OP1. Anyway... your music is great... and waiting for the next upload :)

The textures sound great man, really loved this and I'd love to hear more in the future. Keep it up. 2:22 sounds like something straight from Amont Tobin' s Supermodified album

Love it. I never really understood the OP-1 - how do you find the tape way of doing things as opposed to the more traditional sequencers found on other devices?

I find it more interesting than traditional sequencers at times. It’s definitely not for everyone though.

I know the question wasn't directed at me, but I really like it. It's more like an 80's workflow if you didn't have a computer. I was born in 81 so I didn't get to play with studio gear in the 80's, but you could have a drum machine with some patterns, and you get a pattern you like and record it to tape. Then record something else when listening to it back. It's like that. The built in sequencers are a variety of step type sequencers and all have their own abilities and quirks and are quite interesting, but you make something and commit it to tape, then move to the next thing. So when nearing some completion you can't just go and tweak the lead sound or change it to a different preset. You might have to play over it with a different sound to make it have a different tonal quality. It's actually quite refreshing I find. Also unlike real tape based formats, you can cut (lift) paste (drop) the entire tape and repeat it easily, but you can do that per track. With a real 4 track you can't cut up and slice track 1 without affecting track 2 3 and 4. And you can't lift a section of tape and drop it into a drum sampler and chop it up and play bits with a sequencer record that back to tape and then do it again etc. So it's more creative than real tape. Real tape doesn't have bar and beat markers on it to let you keep cuts in time if you want to do that either. A real synth in the 80's probably didn't have a sequencer or at least if it did that would've been late 80's and they were mostly quite a pain. Plenty of synths had an arpeggiator. Think of the built in sequencers more like that. Except when you arm for record and then hit the key to start the arp, it all syncs perfectly. Your Jupiter 4 is not going to start in sync with your tape machine, you're going to need extra hands or pedals. It's a funny little gizmo :)
