Thank you for watching! Honestly this deck doesn't rely much on on-plays so I think it'll be very good into Blackbeard as-is. You could add a little more rush for that matchup, but it's probably fine the way it is now. Purple Luffy also seems winnable if you can get a Hina early-on. I think Doffy is very rough for this deck unfortunately Not many new cards I can think of that I'd add tbh

Hey, thanks for watching! I'm not gonna lie, OP7 is the most diverse meta we've had in forever, and so Sabo will struggle if you run into Bonney or RP Law. However, if you're playing against Lucci, Moria, Luffy, or Enel, you'll do fantastic! I would cut 1 Borsalino, 1 Bartolomeo, and 1 Fire Fist from the list and add 3 Shuraiya in their place. He's really good for the BY Luffy matchup!

Thanks for watching and I appreciate the feedback! Yeah, I'll plan on making an updated EB1 list. But I can tell you now that most likely I will drop 1 Borsalino, 1 Fire Fist, and 1 Lindbergh to make room for 3 copies of Shuraiya. I don't think I'll actually be adding any EB01 cards. I might consider swapping out 2 Zoro's for 2 Kid + Killer from EB01, but honestly I don't feel very good about that change. Zoro can be played on Turn 2 regardless of whether you're going first or second, while Kid + Killer cannot if you go first.

Well we definitely plan on doing a live-commentary match between me piloting Sabo and one of my friends here at the channel piloting another OP6 deck. So keep any eye out for our next Pirate Rumble! Heard of an interesting build attempting to mess with a bigger Straw Hat Engine, and more Dressrosa cards with King Kong Gun to have the Dressrosa Luffy be your game ender. Was just speculation and stuff so idk how it’d work. I think it was VV Theory who mentioned it.

Yesss, haha, that's what I like to call "Meme Sabo." Don't get me wrong, it's actually quite neat how it has all the necessary pieces to enable that combo. Nami searches your StrawHat cards, including the offensive key cards like 7c Dressrosa Luffy, Kong Gun, Diable Jambe and defensive options like Rad Beam and Guard Point. You can run Rebecca searcher too, to find the Dressrosa pieces while filling up trash. Leader ability protects your 7c Luffy against KO. And you basically just stall out the game till you can just Diable Jambe + Kong Gun your 7c Luffy, and go for two Unblockable Double Attacks of 13k+ power at your opponent's face. Unfortunately, as good as it sounds, you just don't have too many reliable ways to fill up trash in order to satisfy Kong Gun's condition. And you pretty much have nothing of value to do for the first several turns. It's super hilarious and powerful if it works, but sadly, I don't think it's legit competitive deck overall

looks great! funny though, I just threw together a very similar sabo list the other day that included gecko moria and these blockers in the hopes of countering the meta. Hina is huge here for sure. Great decklist I will try this in a upcoming small event in Germany. It would be nice if you could update us if you change or find something else for this. Sabo is one of those leaders that the potential is very high. The more black and red support he gets the better he will become. Imagine like a black revolutionary army support that would nice. But sabo should also get a slight buff in op07 with new red revo cards

Absolutely! I agree, the potential for Sabo is very huge. Excited to see how we can modify the build when OP7 arrives. My only concern is that so many of the deck's best cards are currently *not* Revolutionary Army, and so if we get a bunch of new Rev Army support in the future... we might have to drop some cards like Hina, Nami, and Borsalino to make room for Belo Betty searcher and the new support cards. Dont you tryed red brook from st1? I play a list very similar, and use the brook instead of barto because is a good target to play gecko at 8 don and add 2 rested don to the leader if you dont have nami on the board,

Sure, but Nami is already filling that spot for me and is reusable every turn, and I personally prefer the option of having Barto as an emergency blocker. I don't play it very often, but I have played Barto several times where it most definitely saved me.

@@WillofDDT i understand that, i used Barto too before op6 now i prefer some copies of shuraiya as a low cost blocker and if needed as attacker too, to reach leads with power up effects like Shiro or Luffy, so decided to try with that combo, but i like your list too, good to see someone playing off meta sabo 🦾

Taking this to locals today wish me luck! Only changes are instead of 4 borso I have 3 and the dressrosa 4/5 blocker and instead of 4 hinas I’m taking 3 with 1 of the non ko blockers from cp, had to make some budget adjustments

Love to see another Sabo player! Most lists I include Karasu, what's your reason for the exclusion?

Right on!! So I don't love Karasu honestly; I tried it in a pure Rev Army build along with Belo searcher. And even after I dropped the searcher, I still kept a couple Karasu's. Then eventually I realized he just wasn't doing anything for me. A minus 1k to opponent's leader is very unnecessary for this deck; it's far more in line with Belo Betty Leader's playstyle. I'd almost always rather play a rusher or a blocker - those are the key threats to the opponent. Even Lindberg frankly only makes the cut because of his trigger. If I have a Sabo, Hina, Borsalino, Zoro, or Luffy in hand, you can bet I'm dropping any of those before I ever opt to hard-play a Lindberg. Having said all that - with OP7 giving us a ton of new Rev Army cards, including an in-archetype version of the Don Nami, I may opt for the Belo searcher again and throw Karasu back in.

Definitely have considered both, it's just hard to make room. If you put in KidKiller, I'd drop Zoro, and if you put in Dragon, I'd cut some of the blockers, maybe one Luffy

I would actually cut one Borsalino for Shuraiya, and maybe would be even willing to cut 2! I would also cut one Fire FIst for a Shuraiya I suppose. I think 3 Shuraiya is enough though! I'm not personally a fan of Rebecca Blocker, because she cannot be protected with your leader ability, and we don't have many good targets to play off the second part of her effect. That said, the recursion from trash is very nice. So if you have no Borsalinos at all, try 3 Shuraiya and a 1-of Rebecca!

Yeah, I'm certainly considering switching to a full Rev Army build once OP7 comes out. The Koala that does the same thing as Nami is awesome! But I'm concerned adding a searcher and switching to full Rev Army will require us to cut too many of the deck's best cards, like Hina or the rushers. Will have to see!

Thank you, means a lot! And lol, I hear ya on the Borsalino being quite expensive. A decent card to sub-in would be Shuraiya! It can be played on second turn, and it can match the power of your opponent's leader when attacking, which is fantastic against Black/Yellow Luffy once he begins seeing more play. My only issue with Shuraiya is that he's 4k power prior to attacking or blocking, and so if your opponent tries to use an effect to KO him immediately after he was played, you cannot use leader ability to protect him. But still, I do intend to find space for 2-3 Shuraiya in this list once BY Luffy comes out.

Random question…what combination of sleeves are you using here? It looks like the inner sleeves are black, while the outer sleeves are white. Cool deck list, by the way! I’ve been wanting to run a R/B Sabo for a minute.

Hope you enjoy playing the deck! I use "Dragon Shield Perfect Fit Sealables - Smoke" as the inner sleeves. They have a dark back that puts that black border around the card. For the outer sleeves, I ordered sleeves from Dragon Shield's website's Sleeve Crafter with our channel's logo custom-printed on the outside. The inside of those sleeves must always be white though.

Thanks, appreciate you watching! My very first build of this deck actually was a strictly Rev Army build that ran the Belo Betty searcher. Unfortunately, as you begin building Sabo, you start to realize that the best cards for him are from three different archetypes - about a third of his cards are Rev Army, another third are StrawHats, and yet another third are Navy cards. Trying to put enough targets in the deck of a given archetype to justify any of these three searchers is just not worth it in my opinion, because you end up having to cut great cards from the other archetypes. With Dragon coming up in OP7 alongside new Rev Army support, I'll certainly revisit the idea of pure Rev Army build, but currently, I do think it's best to just run Sabo using the best mix of cards at reliable ratios so you see what you need often enough.

​@@wansboro0 Sorry, saw this pretty late! But yeah, absolutely - The Enel matchup is a very easy win for Sabo in my experience. Sabo is a deck that establishes a wide board, and does great into other decks that also like wide boards. This makes it a great matchup for Enel. Hina allows you to freeze Enel's attackers, and Blocker Sabo/Leader Sabo's abilities render Gedatsu and Yamato pretty mediocre cards. Especially with a Rad Beam or two in your hand for the late game, I find Sabo usually comfortably wins this matchup. Perhaps when Enel gets 10c Ace it might make the matchup a little scarier for Sabo, but I honestly doubt it. R/P Law I expected to absolutely stomp Sabo, but I actually have found it to be about 45/55 surprisingly! Law is slightly favored. It really does come down to the luck factor of how many of their power reduction cards they draw. I suggest starting with Nami + Rush Zoro and swinging at their life, and then begin playing a few decoy units to bait them into using their leader's removal ability. After they've used their leader ability a few times, drop Hina. If she sticks, you're able to recover. And as you move into the mid-game, trying to starve them by focusing their board instead of life. If they ever play a Gordon or RaiseMax and leave it there to use next turn, Fire Fist can also be used to punish. It's by no means an easy matchup, but it's winnable if you play it like this.

I tried it, but didn't care for it to be honest. It's much better suited to Belo Betty. It's very expensive in this deck for what it does, and Rushers or Blockers will almost always provide you much more value.

Tough for sure. If you get lucky and they only draw 3 bottom deck cards and not much counter, you can gun through with rush. It's not an easy matchup, but surprisingly close every time.

Top 128 I would not describe as a meta killer. Sorry. I am not discrediting the accomplishment because getting top 128 with a red black Sabo deck is highly impressive.

Fair enough! But for what it's worth, as I said in the video, a small misplay cost me one of my Moria matches. So if it weren't for a piloting error on my part, I wouldn't have to lost to a single Moria all day. (I played against 4 of them that day.) The list itself has proven great into Moria The second match I lost was to a Reiju - which again, I acknowledge in the video is this deck's only *downright terrible* matchup 😅 The third match I lost was to a Green Uta, which is not meta. So I don't think this loss really reflects poorly on my statement that Sabo is a good anti-meta deck. (For what it's worth, this match also felt very winnable if I had drawn a single Hina, but my life and deck kept giving me rush units, so I ended up without any counter in that game 😆)

@@Lostifler19 No Karasu, I honestly think it's not so useful for Sabo. (If we ever get more black Rev Army cards, perhaps we can go full Rev Army build, and at that point yes I would add Karasu.) I will say Dragon is an awesome card! I've tried to fit two into the deck. You can probably drop one Lindbergh and one Zoro, and put two Dragon in there. I personally think 8c Moria is the better boss monster overall though.
