Started watching you guys when you came up on my YTShorts, and while I've never been the biggest metalhead (think old school meta/rock and Nickelback) because I have a sensitivity to certain sounds that cause my ear to feel like something is stabbing into the actual ear drum. My bf has those massive walls built around his childhood traumas and he uses alcohol and weed to numb his pain. I've been trying to smash his walls desperately, confronting him with his problems, but over the past few weeks I am starting to realize that I just need to use my heart love and empathy to help him, then he will be able to heal himself. This song sums it up perfectly.

You can be as compassionate and loving as you want - and of course that’s a wonderful thing - but that doesn’t mean he will heal himself bc of it. You cannot take responsibility for him deciding to make a change, and being kind to him hoping that is what sparks his healing is just another way of trying to do that. It’s not your job nor within your power to fix someone else, no matter your intensions or desire to do so. Just be cautious and set healthy boundaries is all I’m saying. It can very easily lead to him dragging you down with him otherwise. Much love to both of you.

I'm so sorry to hear about that..... I just hope you know that as long as you are being a positive loving support for him, then you are doing the very best that you can for him. To be honest with you, addiction is the hardest thing ever to go through for some people and unfortunately it truly does take being completely ready which is really really hard to do and sometimes we might think we're ready when we aren't and then when we do mess up it hurts that much more and feels like we just fought and did all that good work for no reason... And it's also really painful just knowing that you are letting everyone who loves you down and it makes you want to even be that much worse... So I just want you to know that being a loving person in his life is a very amazing thing for you to do and I know that he really appreciates it it will be okay❤❤
