Thank you so much Dave for this video , tho all are amazing ! - my favorite stone is opal ! , then tourmaline , and third place go to fluorite ! - but I change my mind every year on second and third place ! :)) , kind regards from Romania , amazing videos - I like how long you take for each stone to present , it takes time to appreciate a stone and you know how to do it properly ! thank you

how come you have an issue with smoked ethiopian opals but not treated andamooka opals? and any chance you get, you try to down talk the ethiopian opals, i just wanna know why
@lapidarydave8 ай бұрын
When have I talked down on smoked Ethiopian
@BlackOpalWorld8 ай бұрын
The only issue with smoked Ethiopian opals is that a lot of dishonest sellers call them black opal, which they're not. Treated Andamooka matrix is not called black opal by most sellers.
@jominime148 ай бұрын
@@lapidarydave i have watched a lot of your videos and a lot of times you talk to any other opal sellers; like the spencer idaho lady, most australian opal sellers, you find a way to bring up ethiopian opals. they’re just volcanic opals and i don’t see why there needs to be a weird bias and insulting way to view volcanic opals. australia has them as well. and you have, in some of your older videos. like when there was a guy who came up to you and showed you his smoked ethiopian opal ring that he cut himself. and if you don’t like them smoked, fair enough. but it’s weird that you bring up ethiopian opals whenever you see any other opal type and have a convo with someone else. every opal is special and beautiful in their own right.
@jominime148 ай бұрын
@@BlackOpalWorld that’s an issue with those sellers and 99% of the time you can tell they’re smoked and that they’re ethiopian. that’s not a problem exactly with ethiopian opals and it’s fair game that they can be treated, the same way andamooka opal is treated, imo. i love australian opals but i’m sick of the cult and angry mentality most of the opal world has towards ethiopian opals. why can’t you talk about australian opals without bringing up ethiopian? as if opals from other regions don’t exist at all.
