its astonishing that todays car manufacturers are allowed to get away with these design fauls. The same thing is happening to the timing chains of Mercedes BMW and most other manufacturers. The manufacturers believed that the chains were a lifetime part of the engine and therefore put them in an inaccessible place between the gearbox on the back of the engine. They now realise that they are not fit for purpose and will use any excuse not to help buyers. A lot of cars are considered economical right offs because of the cost of replacing the chain.

There is no aftermarket brand at this time. You can only find GM OE kit.

wow had to take off the whole lower subframe to and gearbox to access timing chain, all for a shitty tensioner and chain guide........ Are there any recalls or modifications to prevent a repeat issue?

After replacement timing chain kit ( i bayed HEPU kit). My car now whistling/whining like turbo is bad. But turbo is in good condition. On rev 1200-2000 rpm is louder that whistling/whining noise. Does anyone know why my car whistling whining?

nekem maszek szerelőnél volt 200, úgy, hogy a lánckerék nem lett cserélve. Márkaszervízben ilyen 400-500 ezer körül van.

@@thomasadmiral3401 elhiheted hogy a mérnököknek qrvára nem szempont hogy a fillérbaszó magyarok olcsón tudják szervizelni amíg szét nem rohad... ahogy egyre több cuccal lesznek felszerelve a modern autók úgy minden centi helyért meg kell küzdeni, lehet itt pont így jött ki a matek hogy így lesz a legjobb, ja és persze a hőterheléseket sem árt figyelembe venni és az alapján tervezni a dolgokat. Míg neked kb annyi jön le az egészből hogy mer' a gonosz mérnök direkt így tervezze hogy minél több pénzt lehessen lehúzni az emberekről lol
