@boerharms22093 жыл бұрын

@boerharms22093 жыл бұрын
@@Smartzenegger Dat statief zou een goeie optie zijn. Maar misschien is die gedachte wel iets te laat, als je snapt wat ik bedoel.

Can u tell me where the timing marks are on the chain?
@boerharms2209 Жыл бұрын
the chain itself is unmarked, you need to put cyl 1&4 in TDC, and line the gear up. Theres a little bracket that gets bolted into the block where the top timing gear rests on. It has a little notch in it, that needs to line up with the dot on the gear. then install the head with the camshaft already in it (much easier that way) be sure to get the cam already roughly lined up. then just bolt everything together. if done right, you only need to align the camshaft a degree or so, when you put the gear on it. So timing in short: - 1&4 in TDC - top gear align dot and mark on bracket Hanging the chain on the top timing gear is the easiest way to install a new chain. When its all set you can tension the chain, and the marks should still align I hope its clear, please let me know if you've got any more questions

@@boerharms2209 i bougt a Opel rekord e, with 20s engine, and think the previous owner has change the TOP, but i think the chain is one or two thooth wrong, because its impossible to adjust the sparktiming, i got a 32/36weber and electronic fuel pump.
@boerharms2209 Жыл бұрын
@@Gulbrandsen95 Okay. Id say, check the following On the flywheel, there is a little ball marking, and through the gearbox you can see a little window with an arrow marking (this is were you shine the timing light) With the engine switched off, just crank the motor by hand, until those marks line up. Cyl 1 is now in TDC Take the valve cover off, and see if the ball and mark on the top timing gear line up With that checked, you can verify wether the timing chain is correct or not. Now move onto the ignition. with the engine set like this, the rotor should roughly point to the firing position for the nr 1 cyl. On bosch distributors there is a little mark on the housing directly under the rotor cap. Also, do you have points ignition or a electronic system? Personally, i have a points system, which is easy to adjust with a timing light on cyl 1. Be sure to take off the vacuum advance from your distributor, as this affects timing aswell, and makes getting a proper ignition timing impossible

Can you give the carburator ref and the air filter ref please ? Thanks a lot
@boerharms22096 ай бұрын
Yeah sure. Carb is a weber DGV, a kit that i got at Classiccarbs.co.uk, make sure you select the correct one for your engine, which in my case was a 2.0 CIH engine. They have the air filter aswell
@linuxubuntu69636 ай бұрын
@@boerharms2209 i got a 2.0 CIH too. This double carb was mounted only on rekord ? Because i need the inlet pipe. Thanks
@boerharms22096 ай бұрын
@@linuxubuntu6963 Hmm, the rekord 20S would also come with a Varajet II stock. All of them did. The intake manifold should be the ''large'' CIH carb intake. I've fitted a weber DGV to it, the kit comes with everything you need to adapt it. Its a really worthwhile upgrade over the stock varajet

@@boerharms2209 ok Do you hnow if the intake manifold of the 1.6 is the same as 2.0 ? Thanks a lot
@boerharms22096 ай бұрын
@@linuxubuntu6963 the 1.6 i believe is the ''small'' intake, which is different to the larger 2.0 intake
