As a Night time HGV driver those headlights are a right pain in the ar2e. Quite simply they don't work. The lights are set to trigger anything at lower level so illuminate the lanes in front of the vehicle but the central reservation blocks our lights coming towards them and as we sit higher up we get the full dazzle from virtually every vehicle.
@NobbyOnCarsАй бұрын
Interesting to hear that. The demos of these kind of lights always feature cars coming towards the vehicle, not HGVs.
@DjeseretАй бұрын
It is not true that it applies to everyone, it varies greatly from car brand to car brand, and you only see the bad ones, the ones that work you think are ordinary headlights, so don't draw quick conclusions about the technology, but instead blame the bad technology of certain car brands.

@@Djeseret I've been driving for years and only had the problem since the introduction of this tech. When the driver had to actively switch the lights it was so much less of an issue

@@williamfence566 Several waste their light in the treetops, others do not in the same way, but even if that difference exists, it is probably not possible to say anything about how it is experienced from the other side. I've only noticed that some cars keep the bright lights down, close to the road and others shine high up, so there should be a difference, you might think.

More tyre profile on the 18s so more comfort essentially. Bigger the wheel, the harsher the ride quality, generally speaking.

It's still the same 1.2, three cylinder engine, but they replaced the old faulty belt with a chain now, and added a mild hybrid. But Stellantis never confirmed whether they also addressed other annoying issues happening to this engine, for example oil consumption etc. Basically pretty much the same engine, but they replaced the belt as so many customers were complaining, but whether it helps in the long run it remains to be seen. I would say it's still a high risk that it will be very unreliable

There is no Pure Tech in that car... or any... other with the new mild hybrid engine.
