Hi Nobby. Another great review, lots of detail if one was considering this car. Use that power outlet to recharge laptop etc but not designed for kettle im afraid. bring a flask!.

Fabulous car, but I wouldn't pay that price for the manual version. With all that spec, I'd rather have the automatic transmission to add to the experience

Greetings from Ukraine. I was just comparing 1.6L petrol grandland with the new qashqai 1.3L mild hybrid, so im glad i found your review. See, unfortunately we currently dont have a test drive option.😢 Would you mind sharing your steering experience driving this Opel in comparison with qashkai? Which one is better?

I take it you haven’t driven the Renault Austral then? For starters it’s cheaper than a Grandland, better equipped, seats more comfortable and light years ahead in design and equipment. I had a Grandland top spec and got rid after three months. Uncomfortable to drive and considering it’s based on the Peugeot 3008, I had one of them for 5 years and loved it, I was supposed how much. Was stripped out in comparison. No internal power tailgate button, very poor central console in comparison, no proper two position boot floor, just one made from cardboard. No 12 v socket in the boot. Oh and no internal LED lights. These are all things Peugeot provided in the 3008 and I only had the GT Line Premium not the top spec. No opening sunroof or any sunroof and nasty hard plastics everywhere in the cabin which also lacked ambient lighting. All this isn’t stuff Vauxhall/Opel haven’t put in the car, it’s stuff they have stripped out of the lower spec Peugeot version! As Stellantis make both cars you would expect the top of the range Grandland to at least have what a lower spec 2018 3008 had if not more. I now have the Renault Austral mid range model and apart from a sunroof it has everything my 3008 had but where I had a diesel 3008 for economy the Austral is a 1.2 litre petrol self charging hybrid which actually betters the economy of my 3008, probably something to do with the 20 inch wheels. Less rotations to go the same distance. But then seeing as the guy who designed the 3008 has moved to Renault it’s not a surprise they are building such fabulous cars.

Isn’t this car made by the French PSA group? They bought Vauxhall Opel from GM. I know there was always a lot of German influence to the GM Vauxhall Opel, not so sure now they are owned by PSA. Is it based on a Peugeot platform?

PSA merged with Fiat Chrysler to form Stellantis. The Crossland and Grandland was originally a joint venture between GM and PSA and eventually PSA bought Opel. Either way, it’s still PSA underneath with some GM influence.

No. It is made by Opel and Vauxhall. PSA own the company and sure there are shared components but both car companies are a throw over from GM. in the future who knows what will happen as they are owned by PSA.

Crap battery life in winter/cold. Only getting 23 miles on full charge once that has run out you can watch the fuel gauge as you burn through so much petrol might as well burn the cash. Sorry but it's a nice car but to expensive to run

Does it not? My Grandland X is due to go back in a few months and was going to swap it for this model. Might not if it's missing some of the spec, though.
