Well that's an original character. Tony was pretty much tailored to gandolfini. Dave chase talked about that when filming the pilot. His anger was ad libbed and it worked so they wrote the character that way the rest of the series. Casting for an adapted comic book character is significantly harder. It's so much more remarkable when you get a prefect match for the comic book character like rdj playing stark.
