I bought my physical copy of Blazing Saddles a few months back, and on the way home began to worry if it would be heavily edited. Three minutes into the film, my fears were alleviated, and I fully enjoyed the unadulterated classic comedy

It’s funny but I do feel that it’s overrated *because* of how it’s no longer politically correct. I’ve never thought comedy was especially funny just because it was taboo.

@@braynjohnson4302, do you like otger Mel Brooks comedy? I think you either like irreverent humor or you don't.
@samwallaceart28812 күн бұрын
@@braynjohnson4302Mel Brooks' sense of humor isn't for everyone, that's fine. To me, the movie isn't "funny" because they say the n word; actually the movie is wholesome and good for society because they say the n word; back in the day people were just as shocked at the film as we are now. But the film never seeks to offend; it's poking holes at a very real time in our history and making it something we can talk about and process. If we can't laugh about it, we'll never learn from it. This movie did more to unite black and white audiences, laughing at the same jokes, than it had any right to, and THAT makes it important historically. No one watches Blazing Saddles to laugh at black n****s fumbling around; the movie is roasting the white people who say it.

Unironically Sonic the Hedgehog is the trilogy of the decade. Each movie is better than the last, they're wholesome movies that are the perfect blend of cartoonish dialogue and earnest character arcs, Sonic gets his ass beat A LOT in these movies and gets punished for his character flaws in the action, Jim Carrey manages to make a cartoon clown-man crying a believable real moment, and the writers for these movies understand the source material and the memes in the fandom perfectly and work in fan service where it makes sense while still doing their own thing. Best movies? Probably not. Subtle? As a sledgehammer. But compare it to every other trilogy of post-covid; they're the best FOR SURE and I'm glad that team is being rewarded for their dedication to the fans. In the era of Disney ruining everything, Sonic is an island, a champion of the people.

I am yet to see S3, but I'm inclined to agree. It's good simple fun, with an actual upwards trend in quality as the movies go on (from what I've heard of 3 anyway), which is kind of a rarity in movie series nowadays. I mean, if John Wick kept the quality of 1 for the whole series, that might have done it for me, but they had to go more cartoony as they continued, so nah. Sonic at least has it's cartoon oremise from the start and rolls with it.

That last part of the catch up, about the power levels of force users. Mace Windu is the strongest lightsaber user, stronger than Yoda or Count Dooku. Because he uses a forbidden form of fighting, called the Vapaad. It enables the user to draw power from the dark side, but you need complete mastery of the force to avoid falling to the dark side while using it. There are very few known users of this form and this is why he managed to beat Palpatine with it.

Gandalf and the Balrog are both lesser angels while Sauron is an Angel Lieutenant, and Morgoth was an Arch Angel. That's more the scaling were dealing with. Gandalf can't become Morgoth by hitting the gym; he would have to get a higher rank by being bestowed power (Gandalf the White), or stealing power (taking The One Ring).

The Wire is better than the Sopranos for sure in my opinion. The Sopranos is obviously more iconic, but I think The Wire is a better show from start to finish. I only recently watched both of those shows for the first time in the last 4 or 5 years and loved both of them though. The Wire is easily the best “cop show” ever made and has some brilliant acting in it, including a number of unknown actors at the time who absolutely killed it.

From is a mess. Third season is the worst, and that says a LOT. They call themselves a "community" fighting a common threat, but it is everyone by himself. People don't talk, do random ****, make plans and then do the opposite, and so on. They wander into the woods, find passages, see apparitions and tell no one... As for Squid Game, don't recall any "stupid" behavior, just people reacting in different ways to the same event. Ok, the boat plot is pretty dumb and dull (let's see if it pays off in the second half)

They all originate from Eru Iluvatar. But difference between Melkor and Sauron is bigger then difference between Sauron and Gandalf (yes, Sauron was just personally stronger than Gandalf, however they could fight one-on-one but only in Mithrandir's true form, that he could not have in MiddleEarth. His given physical form of an old man was limited, while Sauron didn't follow rules that much (duuuh) and changed his form from time to time at will ignoring all debuffs and stuff)
