This video is a brief introduction to the Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) for electric vehicle smart charging.
The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is a open source protocol for communication between Electric vehicle charging stations and a charging station management system (CSMS), also known as a charging station network.
OCPP is a initiative of ELaadNL foundation located in Netherlands. The latest version is OCPP 2.0.1 released in the year 2020. The Open Charge Alliance (OCA) manages the OCPP standard.
OCPP creates an open platform between Electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE) and a charging station management system and supports many operations.
Being an open source protocol, OCPP can easily be adopted and improvised offering many benefits.

Is OCPP a requirement for load sharing of multiple EVs in a private multi-tenant environment such as condo parking stalls ? Or is it mainly used in commercial offering such as commercial EV parking lots?

This is a quite good question. I think only for commercial EV parking lots now. However, I think the private tenant environment is also a very good market. Do you work on the ev charger business?
