Heroes and villains of DC Comics square off in the two-part, live-action, made-for-TV (with a laugh track!) smackdowns of Legends of the Super Heroes.
The Challenge: Batman and Robin (Adam West and Burt Ward of the live-action Batman TV series) lead The Flash, Green Lantern and more JLA members against The Riddler (Frank Gorshin reprising his TV role), Mordru, Weather Wizard and other Doom-dealers. The Legion’s ultimate gambit: trick the heroes into downing a diabolical depowering drink!
Also included is the Roast hosted by Ed McMahon who emcees a rowdy rave-up. Who knew DC Super Heroes and villains packed as much verbal wit as physical grit when not locked in mortal combat? These Legends will leave you laughing.

@@bradenhogan2 Reprising the role he made famous (seriously, the Riddler was a small, unpopular villain before 1966) in a low budget, but fun looking hour special romp? Are you kidding me? This is awesome! First (and only, for some) live action appearances of some of these DC comics characters. Maybe you need to compare it to other superhero television of the time - like the Wonder Woman series, or The Incredible Hulk, or the 70's live action Spider-Man. This is WAY better than the live action Spider-Man. Even Stan Lee hated the live action Spider-Man. This actually looks fun, and is a cool "real" upgrade to the Superfriends cartoon of the time!

Sid & Marty Krofft should have let DC do comic book adaptations of Electra Woman & Dyna-Girl and Land Of The Lost. They only let Gold Key Comics do adaptations of H.R. Pufnstuf, Lidsville and The Krofft Supershow (Wonderbug, Magic Mongo and Bigfoot & Wildboy version) and let Charlton Comics do the adaptation of The Bugaloos. There have been parody comics of Electra Woman & Dyna-Girl, such as Animaniacs #30 published by DC in 1995 and Lycra Woman & Spandex Girl published by Comic Zone in 1992 but not an actual Electra Woman And Dyna-Girl comic book. They also could have done Dr. Shrinker, The Lost Saucer, Far Out Space Nuts and Sigmund & The Sea Monsters as comics.

​@AquaFan1998 I hated the red on his chest emblem instead of white on the first suit. The suit got better as the seasons progressed. John Wesley Shipp's suit from the CBS series was better except the white circle on his chest was too small, the mask covered his nose, his boots weren't yellow and I think the suit was a little too muscle-bound for a runner's body. Other than that, the 1990 suit was excellent.

Adam West (arguably) only got better after this. Late 70's and 80's was his lowest point. In the 90's he started doing voice work for cartoons & such, and had a bit of a career revival until he died!

A 2 part special produced by Hanna Barbera. The same Hanna Barbera that brought us cartoons like Flintstones, Scooby-Doo, Smurfs (etc). and, of course, the Superfriends. Basically, this was a live-action Superfriends tie in, made after the success of Superman (1978), the Wonder Woman tv show, and re-runs of the Batman (1960's) series.

Ted Cassidy was voicing The Hulk's growls for CBS at the time. He also narrated the intro for The Incredible Hulk (1978-1982) and voiced The Thing on The New Fantastic Four (1978). Fun Fact: Ted Cassidy appeared as Lurch on one episode of Batman (1966) as one one of the celebrities who opened the window to talk to Batman and Robin during their bat climb up a building.

This Huntress costume is more comic accurate for the Earth 2 Huntress of the Justice Society, but the purple should have been darker. The actresses who played her on Birds Of Prey (TV show and movie) and Arrow looked nothing like the character.
