I am too Would love if you could do a sort of study group or study plan so we can suffer and learn together like weekly check-ins Could use all the help I can because clearly there's a learning gap I just dont know where Personally I felt I could have done more mocks and questions like 200 in one go but never had the time and prioritized getting the answers and understanding instead of actually doing the questions and then later reviewing the mistakes

Kate I’m not going to sugarcoat it for you but if you’ve failed twice after putting in the hours. There’s a fundamental flaw in how you study. So, before you start studying for November I’d suggest you do some research and figure out what it is you’re doing wrong. And as harsh it is, I’d also advice you to maybe leave the course because it only gets harder after passing L1. There’s much more and much better things to do rather than slogging away 400-500 hrs and then being disappointed. Anyway, if you do decide to continue, I wish you all the best. You’ll surely do well in November! Also if you are looking for a community we one have on Reddit and discord and it’s very active. You can find the link of discord on Reddit.

Hey Kate, it was so courageous of you to share this! Don't give up, one thing is sure the knowledge you've gathered in previous attempts is not wasted, just add to it when next you sit for the exam! All the best to you

Sometimes i find that kids truly dont learn how to study in college. For me, studying is an all-or-nothing decision. When i crushed L1, i did hardly anything else for those 4 or 5 months. I didnt go out on the weekends, i didnt see my friends, etc. I was either at work, at the gym for an hour, or studying. I dont want this to sound like an insult, but maybe what you think is "alot of hours" and "studying hard" isnt what actually studying hard is.

Good luck in your next try. I did take the May exam too and I have passed. I recommend that you do more than the 300 hours recommended because the 300 hours are not enough. I would also advise you to be very careful when you create the community so you dont breach the CFAI code of ethics, you can be suspended based on the content shared in your community.

Well done, Kate. I applaud you for your spirit of resilience. The CFA Program is indeed a challenging endeavour. Kudos! I would advise in your next try you focus more on practice questions, especially the CFA website practice questions that house over 3000 questions for Level 1. And mocks too. You will do just fine.
@KateGvozdeva2 жыл бұрын
Thank you!😍 yes, I did all of the questions but this time I will do 2 times! And need to leave more time for mocks. Practice practice practice ✨
@peterakpan37732 жыл бұрын
@@KateGvozdeva Wow! You did all the questions?! That's a lot to pass the exams. Given that you did all the questions, I think the problem now is your understanding. Probably, you don't really understand the concepts very well and why the answers to the practice questions are the answers. One thing is to do the questions and another is to understand the reason for the answers. In my L1, did all the questions once and passed easily above the 90th percentile. Majorly because I understood the concepts very well. If you have an entirely different background from Accounting/Finance, I'd recommend taking lectures (physical or online) from prep providers.

Hey don't worry, at least now you know how the exams would be like and you have a grasp of the syallabus. Take a few months of break, relax and recharge yourself. Once you've taken a break, then try the next exam. The 3rd round is usually the charm!

Good luck on your next one Kate! I also took the may exam and passed (fortunately). It has definitely been the toughest journey for me in terms of studying... took me 6 months + around 2 weeks of intensive studying before the exam (I didn't go out anywhere and just study the entire time 🥲) I think the community is a great idea. I studied with a friend and it really helps having someone to not only share study materials or tips but also as support system! 😊 You can do this!! 👍👍

It took me like 600 hours of study and it broke me. You're definitely not stupid at all. Did you use a prep provider? I also felt alone doing the study. By the way what is your accent?
@KateGvozdeva2 жыл бұрын
600 hours wow! So you passed it right? Well done!😍 I mostly used the CFA curriculum and had a bit of revision from Kaplan books. For this retake I’m thinking to use the prep provider? Did you use one, if yes can you recommend? I’m originally from Russia, but been living in the UK for the last 10 years

Hi Kate, sorry to hear about your results. I have found what helped me pass level I and level II were to focus on mock exams. I think for each level I and level II i did over 5-6 full mock exams. The part that really helped me was to go through every question and understand why i got it right or wrong. I would review these mock exams numerous times throughout the last final days so if i saw a similar question i wouldn’t make that mistake on the real exam. All the best… you aren’t stupid these are just tough exams :)
