Different argument. It’s been pretty clear for some time that Celtic have better players in most positions, so you can argue that they didn’t turn up when they are beaten. Rangers have lost so many derbies in recent years that it is clearly not an issue of turning up or not, they simply don’t have the quality that Celtic. The derby is essentially who scores first wins, in essence the team that starts best tends to win. That is especially true with no away fans at Ibrox or Celtic Park. It’s very very difficult to come back in a game where there are deafening cheers every time you misplace a pass and even louder silence when you are playing well. The performance should serve as a stark reminder to Celtic that regardless of how poor Rangers are, you can’t turn up to Ibrox and play so passively and without enough effort to fight for every ball. Regardless, highly likely Celtic will be laughing loudest come the end of the season.

I don’t think Celtic are being overrated, they are otherwise unbeaten and are performing better than any Scottish team have in the Champions League for a good while. You have to admit Rodgers’ pedigree as a manager and the fact they will have a lot more money to spend in the transfer window than Rangers must also be recognised.

The reason why Celtic weren’t good is because how good rangers game plan was, yilmaz kept maeda quiet as he can keep up with him unlike Tav and defend very well had 3/4 times the legs Tav does. Bajrami again nullified McGregor as he did in the cup final. There’s a way to beat Celtic and it’s by stopping the 2 I’ve mentioned for a start. Celtics full backs have been proven to crumble when there is forwards willing to take them on and stand them up. Sima. Sakala. Kent. Igamane. Cerny. I kinda agree but you can’t say there’s no pressure to stop celtic going 17 pts ahead. Rangers just wanted and needed it more. Won’t change anything for this season though but it was never going to be a winning season with such massive changes and wage reductions etc happening. Next season we should be in the hunt with the current newest recruits settled and the rest of the shit cleared out and others brought in. Hopefully we’ll see another exciting season and we don’t shit the bed
