I contacted the agent you mentioned they said it is 5000 + 500 total 5500. I said my friend told me the price was 3700B because I am under 64. they said that price 3700B for if you renew the visa which costs 12500B. In other words I have to renew the visa then I get the 3700B price for opening the bank account. If I only want to open a bank account it is 5000+500 = 5500. It smells fishy. I just want to open a bank account with 3700B payment. I do not need to renew the visa. In the end she or he said “ go to the bank for yourself we only do Visa. I only have a non immigrant O visa. I do not have a rental agreement nor TM30. Is it possible to open without A rental agreement or TM30 if I use the agent ?

Great question. I'm familiar with my experience only, so that's a great point. But my experience is I went to the bank & they said no account for tourists visa. But you need a bank account in order to get your retirement visa. So my service in Chiang mai took me to the bank & the only loophole was to get an inexpensive accident insurance policy & it went right through. I hope this helps. Your question is very valid & merits more research.
