I crashed my gts in the summer, side panel, trim and mudguard total disintegrated. This site very good to allow you to repair you scooter. All black mirrors,trim now. No information about stopping my Mrs complaining about me going out on my scooter on this site😊

Thanks for posting another interesting video. It does make me sad to think that there's a whole world out there, of two wheel vehicle owners who just use their machines without any thought to doing a little maintenance. None of what we've seen on this one so far should have been impossible to do along the way and it would have kept the thing in serviceable condition. I guess people don't see that a little job here and there, will protect the value of their scooter and save them from spending a lot in the future to replace it. If it was 50 years old with 100,000 miles on it then trading up for a new machine would be understandable but I bet the previous owner lost a fortune when they had to sell it in this run down condition. Good for you, for saving the scooter from becoming a complete ruin! I'm keen to see how you get on with the repairs and renovation. Thanks again! 👍👍

Thanks Robot from the uK where I bought an unloved by most 2005 LX 50 2T as a winter project about the same time as your vespa. FIrst timer, so everything to learn and the videos sure help. Bodywork with the side stoved in, engine worn, tatty exhaust and a few years of broken bits. Hooked and frustrated in equal measures, the walk away routine always gets you back to the bench another day. Many thanks.

I've been torn between replacing my 2006 Vespa GTS 250 with 44K miles on the clock with a new GTS. Or freshening up the scooter with some new parts and keep riding it. I have an occasional surging idle on the scooter but nothing that has affected riding. But seeing this video I'm going to search for air leaks and hope I don't find any broken studs. The front wheel spins hard so either the brake is hanging up or the wheel bearing is bad. Since there's no noise or vibration, and it loosens quickly when riding, my bed is the pins in the caliper need to be cleaned and greased. Or maybe just replace the entire front caliper? Since I added an ET4 and a Himalayan to the garage I got rid of my lift. I may regret that but there's just no space. A winter project. Sometimes I like the idea. And other times I hate the idea. As always, thank you for your fantastic videos. I can't count how many times I've been fixing something with one of your videos playing on my iPhone!

Absolutely stunning your knowledge of the VESPA scooters. I have a 2010 VESPA GTS 300 super here in Panama with a broken stut. I got tools because I am always paying it the hard way when I bring my cars to the shop. Mostly it is something different broken when I am picking them up at the shops. Now after learning it the hard way, I am getting my tools online to fix my cars and VESPA myself. I think that’s the cheaper and safe way here. If you like to insult one - only call them a Panamanian mechanic! 😂 You can’t really call the “shop monkeys “ a mechanic. And people saying in social media: You don’t need tools. “Mechanics” are very cheap….. Mercedes shop - only one in Panama- was close to destroy my engine…… 😮

Cool cracking vid just bought my very first scooter 2007 250ie(always had bikes still have ha!) been stood for two years(import from Sicily one owner 34,000 km)still runs sweet but tuna change all fluidised etc not sure yet about the belt but anyway cheers ,hip 👀

Just picked up a 2006 GTS 250 myself. Only a thousand miles on mine. Voltage regulator went bad and it needs new tires and fluids but otherwise in great shape. Only one scratch that looks like it may have been from someone taking the cap off to bleed the brakes. Will be doing my own series but, probably not as good as yours LOL

I replaced the original Ducati made voltage regulator on my 2006 Vespa GTV with the Japanese replacement voltage regulator, worked great afterwards. You can remove the wheels yourself and have a shop install new tires, or use big tire levers (and scratch up the rim) like I did. Next time I will use a sawzall or dremel to remove the tires and have the shop do the install of new tires only.

The shame were I live is that a scooter with this much damage would have been written off by the insurer and listed by the road authorities as not repairable so it can’t be registered for on road use.

Why? How is it possible for insurance companies to pay for a new scooter with so much ease?

@@orfeas92 I live in Australia. People insure most vehicles as it is cheap compared to say the UK. The authorities have tried to stop people getting wrecked vehicles fixing them and selling them as uncrashed vehicles. The trouble is that the cost of repair is so high that a slightly damaged vehicle will be written off as the value is lower than the repair cost by a professional. Many of them are easily fixed at home as it is only superficial damage but the VIN is recorded and it can’t be registered. In my state there is a system that very slightly damaged vehicles can be inspected (expensive) by the authorities and re Reg but in some states here that can’t happen either - slight crash and its only good for wrecking/breaking but you can use the parts inc the engine.

Question from here in the United Kingdom. The 125 leader injection engine as found in the yourban and the GTS. How exactly are they limited as in the rev limiter. Also is there an easy way to bypass the rev limiter. The reason why I ask is because I have a Piaggio MP3 125 yourban M711M and I find the rev limiter dangerous on the motorway / highway. So if you can help that would be great.

When storing a carbureted model Vespa for a few months, do you recommend draining the carburetor or will fuel stabilizer be sufficient? I use Stabil for my carbureted motorcycles with full gas tanks & have never had any issues.

Hello I have a Vespa primavera Sprint 50 40 T. 3V where the throttle is in the mirror on the right of the I have a handle that's broke a broke handle it's not really broke but it's curved over where it fell over after a lady felt about ran me over I ran off the road well anyway how do you get those shiny plastic pieces off I can get the back window oil where the brake handle is I can get that one off but the brake handle is loose and I want to know how do you get that off it's just plastic and I don't want to keep breaking something cuz it takes forever to get the parts here and PA the Harley-Davidson shop you asked him any questions about it they're the ones that sold it to me and it's like I'm the last on the list cuz I don't have a Harley but could you do one on that thank you very much this is Richard Paris
