Also this is hilarious to me, because I know a guy who thought he could build a gaming store around Twilight Imperium 😆 I absolutely adore TI, but it’s one of the most complex board games available, and certainly not a mainstream product. He carried other stuff, and he had a beautiful TI space with great tables and chairs (I actually bought one from him when he closed), but he didn’t survive a year. This was pre-pandemic. He was a good guy, but not very smart. The shop basically turned into a hangout for him and his friends, who never really bought anything.

I really like the series. Especially since its pretty universally. We sell weapons and hunting equipment in germany and a lot of it is basicly the same as for you guys. As a general question: in germany we have small business that sell lego bricks and their competitors. But lego want to maintain its monopol about these bricks so it sues these small shops to hell and "freeze" their inventory at the customs for any reason they can find. Is the miniature market similar? With companys sueing each other and attacking retailers that sell products of other brands? With Companys getting pissed when you import their products yourself? Or is it much more peacefull?

In Canada its not so much about getting sued its more that the game companies may have special terms you will have to agree to. For example, Games Workshop will say the most discount you can advertise is 15% off MSRP price. If you have a sale at 20% off for example, they could suspend your account and now you cannot order anymore because you broke the terms. Generally speaking with the models only a few companies you deal with directly, (GW, Battlefront, Wyrd).. most of the time its from a general distributor so there is not the same problem. But if you maybe sell something before the the release date the distributor could choose to cut you off too. I don't sell Lego or other bricks here so I have no idea about the rules with those here.

How does the free shipping from GW work if the best sellers you want are out of stock? Do you have to just order other best sellers?
