WAY back in the year 2000, the first ever Pokemon sets (Base Set 1999 & Jungle) were reprinted into one Best Of set called Base Set 2. Back in the day this set was mostly ignored due to it just being the same cards again. And even today, it's still overlooked in favor of the original 1999 Base Set. But Base Set 2 has always been my absolute favorite Pokemon set! So today, as part of a big Trading Card convention called Hawaii Pop Con, I'm cracking an entire box in search of my all time favorite Charizard card!

Bro noooo don't push them into the top loaders like that. Tap the bottom of the toploader on to the table several times and it'll slide down on its own. You risk bending the card when you push it into the toploader like that

see i can't shake the feeling that these might have been resealed packs in a resealed box. i know that sounds a bit outlandish, but it's mainly because i don't remember pkmn card packs ever shipping with the energies being upside down. good video tho, glad you pulled a charizard :)

as someone super into D&D, hearing people refer to Wizards of the Coast as WotC pronounced wot-see is super funny! for those of you who don't know WotC is responsible for all the D&D stuff, like books and box sets, as well as being the printers for Pokémon TCG stuff. I've never heard WotC abbreviated verbally but it just makes so much sense that the nerds of a high-prep, deep lore, slow burn game like d&d don't use the acronym (plus Wizards of the Coast sounds like something straight out of a d&d campaign) but the nerds of something that is based of short bursts of thrill always do!
