The secret rares from this set were so cool to me back in the day. Magic Cylinder only appeared once or twice I think, but it left such an impact on me. Gemini Elf definitely grew on me as well when I was a kid.

I wanted Gemini elf so bad as kid but I pulled like 3 magic cylinders still great card I used but I wanted a 1900 beat stick vorse raider wasn't out yet I dnt think so I had 2 jus use 3 1800 usually gearfried I think or seven color fish. I quit playing b4 1900 was common thing

I hate that just because wrap seems different, it's automatically suspect. What people need to know is especially back in the upper deck era, they had many different printing facilities that they contracted out, making where not everything came out identical. Glad you got a good box Ruxin.

Understandable though, especially with several instances of resealing old product throughout TCG history. UDE used to have so many problems too, lol. Remember the "pack tricks" for pulling holos that were based almost entirely on 3-6 discolored pixels somewhere on Yugi's face (holos packed on a separate line from the rest of the set)?

When the Fallout 76 trailer debuted with a cover of Take Me Home, Country Roads (and blew up its popularity), I called my mom to let her know. Man, every time I see these vintage openings I get reminded of a classmate from my childhood with whom I figured out through this channel, ripped me off. Back in 2004 or 2005 he offered to go halves in a first ed LOD box that he could buy off the internet. We bought it and on arrival he obviously opened it at home and proceeded to bring me 12 loose packs from which I pulled nothing but an SR luster dragon meanwhile he showed me the yamata dragon that he had pulled. Yugioh boosters at that time were expensive for us, local stores sold them for near double what pokemon was selling for, so most of us hadn't ripped a sealed box before. I like my friends believed the rarity ratios on the packs: SR 1:12, UR 1:24 so that luster dragon situation seemed kosher to me at the time, I had my one SR from 12 packs and he had lucked out and gotten the one UR from the box according to the ratio printed on the packs. Now all these years later with YT and box openings, I find out that boxes can have 3 ultra's! So yeah..... that guy from my childhood obviously scaled the packs and likely pulled way more then just the yamata dragon -_-

The wording on the OG cards was so unhinged back then, but it felt truly authentic. Konami were still discovering themselves in the aspect of card text, but that was cool... in a strange way. Mask of Restrict's "No matter what the situation", Relinquished being mentioned by name in its own card text and Polymerization being the only spell (dare I say Magic?) card with a flavor text!! Also, why is everyone typing random names in the comments?

I had a re-sealed box from Duelist Alliance. All the foil packs were re-sealed and I could pick them out easily. A lot of the foils had scratches all over from being repacked and re-sealed Scary thing was the wrapping on the box had the konami logo on it.

Going through set by set with a couple friends and building decks from each format: Hitting LoN felt incredible to have Gemini Elf as a normal powerhouse beat-down card. Lots of cool cards, but as far as staples, Gemini Elf has to be my #1.

Besides, an error box, it could be that even if the packs aren't changed, it could still be that the box was resealed. A sealed box being worth more than one that isn't gives just as much reason to reseal one that may be ripped or was dirty in some way even if you're not otherwise doing anything to it.

It took a while, but De-Fusion finally came into its own. Non-destructive removal of your opponent's fusions AND can be to used to enable or simplify an OTK? Yes, please!

LON is probably my #1 all time set. So many Rare Hunter and Battle City cards during peak Yugioh. Also, what a rollercoaster! Scam, extra cards, Gemini pull then a 3rd ultra!
