Opening American Girl Doll Josefina Re-Release!!!!

I love Josefina! I purchased mine upon her release in 1997. I then focused on buying her whole collection verses buying other dolls. Her books and her collection are an informative and accurate representation of New Mexico history. Josefina is Hispanic (in the PC catalogs). I live in New Mexico and have taken New Mexico history as a class as an adult. I believe that Josefina is of Spanish decent/pureblood Spaniard (from Spain, and included in the term “Hispanic”) because of the affluence and social status of her family and the Spaniards in the region in 1824. (The Spaniards created a hierarchical system and put themselves on top.) She is a beautiful doll and my favorite face mold. I support people seeing and defining their dolls as they wish. I am happy to see her back again in her original meet outfit!

I love Josefina and purchased my first Josefina around her original release. I have purchased an additional two Josefina dolls who I keep as modern Hispanic dolls. I am really happy that she was re-released wit her birthday outfit and I hope they release more of her original collection as I am missing a few pieces from her collection.

Omg I’m so happy that u unboxed her! A couple months ago I went to the store to buy my first American girl doll in 10 years and it was between Josefina and Claude but they hadn’t re-released Josefina yet so I chose Claude but the next one I buy will definitely be Josefina

Geez I remember I was at a garage sale (20ish years ago) and the seller had Josephina and Samantha for sale for $40.00 each. Both in fantastic condition. This other buyer was holding J and trying to chew the seller down. I wanted J sooo much I offered the seller $40.00! But the other buyer gave in and gave the seller the full amount boo hoo so I missed out. But I did buy Sam and still have her today but evenually I got a J, she is a treasure as all of the AGDolls are. I love the hair style that Mattel put on her with the extra outfit photo, Kris I hope you have the time to show us how to do it. Thanks

OK, as a second generation circa 1990 AG girl, I have to set the record straight. The $150 price test you Just paid for Josephina; was the original price point for the doll and the hardcover Introductory book. Back in the day, the accessories were not included. They were considered extras that you had to pay, I believe $25. I should know, I have the 1990s Samantha doll and soft cover book. It was given to me by my mother and my grandfather. And I distinctly remember my grandfather, (an accountant at the time scrambling over the $120 subtotal price point for adult and a soft cover book.

New subscriber, love your channel! ❤ Although I love Josefina (finally bought the rerelease as a way of healing my inner child since I couldn't have her when i was a kid/boy), I was disappointed when I took her hair out of the braid. Her hair was totally butchered and made me realize ahe wasnt worth the money i spent. I hope your Josefina's hair does not have the same issue as mine did.
