Julie’s jumpsuit espadrille-sandals are historically accurate, they’re still around today as retro.,, and yes the skating outfit is screaming 70’s bright colors and all , just because it carried over into the 80’s doesn’t mean it’s not 70’s .

It has been an exciting morning in the AG world! Julie’s jumpsuit first went with her original Meet outfit sandals. The elastic back on the original sandals are now breaking. The blue sandals are from her patchwork outfit with the sleeveless top and blue shorts. I love the granny knit sweater school outfit! I am glad that the skirt, shirt, and vest are three separate pieces. The plastic barrettes and yarn hair ties are definitely 1970’s!

When Julie first came out, she had the original six book format. The Julie meet accessories are different than the previous one. The purse is from one of her previous outfits and same with the mood ring. She had a previous skating outfit that came with red shorts so I understand why they didn’t go that route. The record player is a retread from her original collection. It’s all the same except the colors.

I absolutely bought Kirsten's birthday outfit - the boots alone go for so much secondhand! I already had the dress and apron, but none of the rest, so it was worth it for me. I also got Julie's floral jumpsuit and summer skating outfit; I'll be picking up her school outfit next month with a rewards certificate. I may end up getting Josefina's birthday outfit too, because I only have pieces from that, also. I'm so excited that they did this, and I think it definitely leads to a hopefulness that they'll do this with others. I could totally see doing some of the seasonal outfits periodically, as we approach the season - like do the holiday outfits in the fall for the dolls. Fingers crossed that they keep along these lines!

During the 70s I was in High School and I don't remember a granny square vest. But I do remember the peasant blouse from India, it was usually white with colored embroidery around the square neck line with puffed short sleeves tied with the same color embroidery thread. And of course Frye boots, anything denim with homemade patches and any clothing made in India.. Do any of you remember these things? The records are acid rock lol. I agree with you on the graphic design 100%! Maybe they should've put the meet covers of the dolls on the boxes instead. I am definitely buying Kirsten's b'day outfit, hopefully it will fit my PC K. Love the braided hair style on Josephina.

Thank you for your videos! I rarely make comment but must say you have the most delightful AG videos I’ve seen in years. I used to live AG overseas and this man from Rhode Island who had like 5 of every historical doll. I really look forward to your videos. I’m in the 8th grade and a stickler for historical accuracy. I’ve been collecting since I was 5. The historical dolls are dear to my heart and I have collected everything PC and historical except Courtney. The 80’s seemed pretty uninteresting to me for the most part. Hooray for the Hippie! But, I think the original Julie is so much more accurate historically and appealing to me. That Beforever version peace sign shirt and hair headband look like an Amazon faux hippie costume. A parody of hippies from recent times. It’s kinda tacky? Yay for Julies new outfit and releasing the very groovy jumpsuit. Love all Julie’s things even the totally rad (not groovy or far out) historically inaccurate rollar-girl outfit…hey, who designed this for historical accuracy? It is very cute though, I might get it, but the only this accurate things about it is the purple yarn hair piece which is quintessential 70’s and the satin basketball shorts which are a 70’s pattern but 80’s color palette. At best this outfit could be maybe 1980 Xanadu. I still love it. The knitted granny square vest is reminiscent of one my my great grandmother made for my mom and I have a photo of her wearing it. ✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️ The new releases and their beautiful birthday outfits which I already have but it so exciting to see them being loved and treasured, and loved again! I was disappointed to see Addy’s yellow feathers (from Sunny M’dears canary) taken away from her snood but perhaps they are a choking hazard? Kirsten’s birthday wreath is so cute but looks SO much LARGER than the PC version. I wish they would make Singing Bird for a friend for Kaya. I love Claudie and think she’s the best of all the releases since 2020 covid besides the original PC historical collection and Sugar Plum. My dream is to have Samantha’s ice cream parlor one day and Felicity’s coach.

Great video, even if you didn't show your beautiful face. Lol. You had loads of information! I'm excited to see these iconic dolls released, again. I have a PC Addy and Josefina, and they are amongst my favorite AG dolls. I have the furniture for Josefina. It is all based on real pieces from the 1800's, located at El Rancho de los Golindrinos, (Ranch of the Swallows) in Santa Fe, NM. This is a real working rancho that was the setting for the Josefina stories. Valerie Tripp visited here prior to writing the stories. The trip to this historic ranch is well worth seeing. I believe they still do the Josefina tour. I purchased a Kirsten and a Felicity for my daughter in 1992, (back in the days when we had to order by snailmail, sending a cheque too); she still owns these dolls. I'd love to see your original Josefina in another video.

AG has since said that they are specifically highlighting Addy, Kirsten, and Josefina for this year, and have all but confirmed that they will be releasing more of their items throughout the rest of the year. I'm willing to bet that next year (2025) will be Samantha's year since she is so popular, and then Felicity in 2026 to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

I was a kid of the 70's and was 8 years old in 1978. I have a memory of shopping for tennis shoes at that age and there were two options where we were shoppin, burnt yellow and light blue. I really wanted the light blue ones, but they were more expensive than the same shoe in burnt yellow, and therefore my parents bought me the burnt yellow ones. I was so disappointed. The color palate was changing the the late 70's to lighter colors, so I think the colors of the skating shorts outfit are reflective of the times. What I think is not reflective of the 70's is the print on the tee-shirt. Rainbows and hearts became a thing in the early 80's. I remember wanting a rainbow heart and skirt when I was 12 or 13 years old in '82 or '83 because it was such a new print style.

😊Right on the money with the AG company, they do know how to make money whether we the buyer agree or not. I have been very vocal with t hem about diversity and the historical line so they do value consumer input bc I really let AG know how incorrect they were over the years. Now they have really stepped up, maybe even out of fear of getting canceled by the younger generation who really have their stuff together. Not scared of this generation at all😂 Successful companies know how to evolve and keep their clientele happy. Julie grows on you for sure! She was the last historical doll I bought before Beforever launched and I just love that doll, didn't think I would even love her collection, but I'm here for it years later still. I had those barrettes as a five year old so the 1970s spilled over a little bit into the 1980s which I'm not surprised. My older brother loved Silver Spoons so the fashion from that series is so AG Julie meets Courtney doll collection so you're right about nostalgia. The floral jumpsuit is such a miracle buy for me. Tried to buy this years ago on the 2nd hand market, it was robbery prices and now to get it new with shoes....yeah!😅😊❤

My guess would be because Julie is an active line that hasn’t been retired yet. The other three had been previously retired so for them to come back is “special edition” or “limited” which means higher prices

I purchased the 35th Anniversary Josefina, but she came with many flyaways. Flyaways drive me crazy, so I took her braid out and redid it. I am not happy with her anymore. I will purchase her birthday outfit and have the doll hair salon do her birthday hairstyle. I will go to the store in Nashville for my birthday next month and buy a Josefina there.

I'm not a Julie fan, so I won't likely be getting anything of hers, but I'll definitely be getting Kirsten's birthday outfit, so long as it doesn't sell out first. Of course, I just bought a bunch of Rebecca outfits on ebay so I need to build my funds up a bit. I hope they bring back Felicity, but unless they release her breeches and hat or travelling gown, I also kind of don't care if they're only releasing outfits and not accessories since I have all of her other pre-Beforever outfits. I also think it's kind of criminal that you can't get a doll's accessories without buying the doll for older dolls and the fact that the new birthday outfits are $55, but all of Julie's outfits are so much cheaper is less than thrilling as well. Can I pass on the book I already have for a cheaper price?

I would say to re-release Felicity as is. It's supposed to be based on historical accuracy, and it's comes from the perspective of a 9 year girl at that time. Idk. History isn't pretty :/
