I'm a huge fan of the retrain trend we've seen the last few years. Giving players the opportunity to ACTUALLY compete with Yubel and Horus is so cathartic

They missed a chance to put a DaD retrain in this set. Would have been a throwback to the og Yubel set. Horus the black flame deity and the ashened cards are my favourites from this set. Ashened as an archetype looks good

The Ghottic is based on the vanilla monster "Wretched Ghost in the Attic", which was a common in TP8. The whole trend with the Mementotlan archetype is retraining classic vanilla monsters. Also a fun fact about "Master of Ham" is that it's stats (Level, Attack and Defense) are all exactly half of the stats of "Master of Oz" (Half of Level 9 is 4.5, rounded up is 5). Pretty neat little easter egg!

Excited for the Ashened archetype because they're literally Dark Souls in Yu-Gi-Oh. Also, E:MP Meowmine looks like a good card for link/Cyberse strategies so I'll have to pick up a playset of those.

These cards are all so cool! For nostalgia value I really like the Yubel support, they are actually kind of good cards once the next wave of support is released too. Other than that my favorite card in the set is definitely the Promethean Princess, such an awesome staple and power card for FIRE decks 🤘😎

I really like the Yubel stuff, but for me personally I'm just happy about the 3rd Magicians of B&U. I went HARD on MZMI for the Flame Swordsman stuff, so unless I win I may not be able to get much of this set besides ordering the magicians. 😅

I'm excited about the Ashened and Goblin Biker archetypes. I love the Ashened art (they're based on the Dark Souls videogame series) and my favorite is the Priestess of the AShened City, and the Goblins are really fun. I want to try out some decks for both of them! EDIT: wow, I didn't know about that Ultimeat Offering! Yeah, Ultimate Offering is still banned and you can do one extra Normal per 500LP, even during the opponent's turn. This one is a bit more expensive and limited, but still pretty nice!

My favourite card is EM:P Meowmine. As a spright player, it is a really nice extender! Since I’m also getting my hands on S:P really soon, the removal effect of EM:P will synchronise super well with S:P!

I'm eager to try out the Raidraptors (Raidraptor - Rising Rebellion Falcon in particular) since I have always enjoyed them. Not considered good, especially compared to the Snake Eyes, but oh well.

During a set tournament I went to at my local card shop I pulled a QCR Goblin Biker Big Gabonga, which is around $200, AND pulled a Promethean Princess, out of only 5 packs. So I think it's fair to say this is the best luck I have had with any core set ever since Dimension Force where I pulled two therion king reguluses out of two boxes, which was the most expensive card in the set at the time 😂😂

The Ashened archetype is loosely based off of the city of Pompeii, which was once destroyed in a volcanic eruption, and Veidos is supposed to represent Mount Vesuvius and Obsidim which is the field spell is also the name of the city, and the various monsters represents different people who were a part of the city whose souls still exists even after the destruction of the city to represent the constant struggle between the people and Veidos

Hey Ruxin, I wanted to start my own channel but I wanted to do my own thing with it. Regardless, your videos helped me a lot since I followed you. Watched most of the videos suggested and had that nostalgia in seeing the cards that I loved when I was a kid. To be completely honest I wasn’t excited for this set at all until I saw the ashened reveal. My favorite card from the set as a whole is “The Black Goat Laughs” because I feel personally the card is going to be a huge meta staple come legacy format.. Edit: ashened are based off of the fallen city of Pompeii and Dark Souls 3

Been really nice to see the retrains. However, it’s unfortunate most of the secrets are pretty mid from the set. Makes opening boxes not feel great unless you rip a Lo in the secret slot. Veidos and the Majespector secret will have some value eventually I think but it will depend on the format and if Kirin comes off the forbidden and limited list for Majespectors. Poplar and Promethean Princess though are insane cards that should hold their value pretty well for a while unless Snake Eye FK gets the Superheavy Samurai treatment (which I doubt given the card prices and lore archetype) It’s not as much of a home run as AGOV (which to be fair is pretty hard to do) but it is solid and I think will age decently well in the next year before reprints strike it down. It will do even better if Ashened’s next wave of support gives it some good stuff.

Going back and watching original yugioh, and gx. Gx was a better darker story. Season one Jaiden banishes someone to the shadow realm and the guy literally says “tell my family I love them.” As Jaiden laughs at him and compliments his special effects as he literally melts into the ground.
