That was gold! I haven't laughed that much in so long. I cackled at the scandalousness of his searing humour to say what we are all genuinely thinking. Audience was stiff - Hasan was hilarious. This isn't improv. I'm guessing a lot of the jokes were prewritten by a team. I don't actually see anything wrong with his humor for the most part. He punched up and some of his jokes were pretty truthful and cutting, there was no bullshit. Some of that monologue felt like filler though and could have easily been cut a good five minutes but I don't get why some people think he's dissing the Philippines and Cate Blanchett. Clearly, people haven't seen Tar and also don't get his humor.

The quality of the jokes, the punch lines all landed badly not because the topics were offensive to movie stars or Hollywood producers, it is because the writing itself is bad.
