Hey there Stephen I was wondering if you could make a video about your application process and things in regards to a gap year ETC. As someone whos in the application process hearing how it went for you would be super helpful!!!

I can definitely cover this topic in a video or maybe a podcast. Unfortunately its been a while since I went through all of that so my memory is not very fresh or up-to-date! But I will do my best to cover it in some way!

Holy guacamole man!! Even though that's a 100 lbs of stuff, it sure does look interesting!! I know your super stoked about it just as I am looking forward to it. Quick question relating to the bag of teeth!...so I've been told in the past that we need to collect teeth from different dental clinics to take with us to Memphis. Such as trying to get as many incisors as we can since they are typically hard to come by. Is that what I should be doing oooorrrrr?...will we be covered? hahaha thanks in advance Stephen! 😎

Thanks so much for the comment as alway Josh! So the teeth in this video are plastic and theyre used in our typodonts which go into our mannikins for the first two years of school (and some board exam stuff). The natural teeth that we are supposed to collect are for our endodontics course. We have to be able to do root canals on real teeth so that is why we collect them. It's actually pretty difficult to find good teeth that you can collect. It's definitely up to you but usually some folks will collect a ton and you'll be able to make up for what you dont have! So really the best advice is to just collect as many teeth as possible!

Thanks for the comment! The school choosing everything in this video but we pay for it! So they tell us how much we owe them each semester for all of these materials and that’s how it works!

My favorite dentist is here finally! I wish I could do magic and get accepted to dental school right away. Is there a spell for this?😅 This year is very important to me, high school is about to end. I hope I can give good news next year..😌🌸 I think I need a time machine.😂😂 If you have a time machine, can you send cargo to Turkey? 'Cause I've been waiting for 12 years and now I can't wait🤷🏻♀️🤭

It's absurd that not just you pay a fortune for the dental education in US, but the school doesn't provide you not even the basic stuff. I graduated in dentistry almost 20 years ago, abroad.

It is very expensive. Our best hope is to make good money after we get out so that we can live frugally and pay everything back as quickly as possible. It is definitely a tough world out there now for young dentists in this country!

I’m a 20 year hygienist. My boss would tell patients that wanted a denture ( when it wasn’t necessary) that “ dentures aren’t a replacement for teeth. They are a replacement for no teeth”. May this do you well in practice.
