For the figure "Jataka of the Deer King", it look like this is paint. You could see paint in this mushroom thing in the right. Just bookmarks Nia if you wan't her. One day someone will cancel order and if you check each day, you can certainly snatch one ! I keep doing this each day for thing, really, this is good.

I believe I read somewhere that the $1,500 kimono figure is so expensive because the kimonos are made by the same person who makes the kimonos for the Japanese royal family

I was so excited for Minato Aqua's I preordered the day she went up. I was checking every day after wonhobby (even though I knew I'd have to wait 2 weeks for my own personal rule...) but she went up exactly as my 2 weeks ended. She looks perfect. I ordered Kamadeva as well, but her face is bland because she's mostly just cold, I have a feeling most of us who are fans of her character went for it as after 2-3 years we still have no signs of her getting any other figures. Her third ascension art would have been better, but the paint is amazing enough I wanted to go for it. (and so far all 3 kdcolle figures I have are amazing quality).

Experienced collectors please advice: I am collecting for a year now but in a few months, my first preorders with figures on the high price range are to be released. I think I want the figures (months of self debating if it is worth it has proven it) but am still nervous paying what some of my neighbors get for a month on full time job on a couple of figures. How did you get over the self doubt?

YOLO, srsly, enjoy yourself if you can afford it. As long as it doesn't distract you from life (like paying bills) - GO FOR IT.

I think it's fine to indulge as long as you have the money to burn. Figure collecting is a luxury hobby and it's not something everyone can afford. Never put yourself into a bad financial situation by buying figures. I started because I had the money. Now I make a lot of money but I'm still very picky with what figures. I could be buying a lot more but it's more important to me to be saving a lot of my income. If buying a figure means you're going to be eating instant noodles for months just to get the money for it, you probably shouldn't be buying it. I don't know where you sit in that spectrum, I'm not even sure how much it helps, but if you have the money to comfortably buy the figures I don think anyone here is going to stop you.

@@TheAndoExperience @Penny Quill thanks for advice. My finances are stable, have a good job and this has been planned in my budget anyway. My quality of life would not be affected in any way. So it is not that side of money that is causing me the dilemma but the other one - if I get this I should not get that. Do I want this more than that? Replace this and that with any car, trip, home renovation, other collectibles etc. And say that you can get similar levels of endorphin out of each of them then a question arises - should I spend on expensive figures when I am happy with my moderate current price range? I can use the extra on my other hobbies or safe for something significant. Answer to that in the current instance is that I like these figures enough to make exception and get them despite the more logical course of getting something in 100-150 price range instead. But this does go against logic and is source of discomfort. These preorder periods were over a year long so it has been hard to keep consistent level of hype as well. So rather than overthinking I believe finding someone who had to made similar decision could give me the peace and quiet I want. Actually just writing this down helped me understand even better where I stand. I will 90% (leave emergencies situations) keep my preorder and get them :) Still curious how other people deal with similar decisions

I dont really agree on Nia. She's $400 yes...but you dont pay until she's ready to ship. So you're not paying $400 AUD then waiting...you're just reserving her and paying in mid/late 2023, assuming the world exists by then. Was surprised you didnt instant nab her to go with your Pyra/Mythra

Plus she'd be SUPER easy to resell at retail if you didnt want her after getting her....so the risk is very low

I'm not comfortable paying that much for her. She's not THAT good and I don't want to bother with reselling things, ever. Committing to (a lot of) payments far in the future is not something I like and I think it's very dangerous for the hobby. Also there's even like 5 other figures in this video I'd consider preordering over Nia lol.
