I can understand that perfectly. It's partially to do with hormones changing, and partially to do with the amount of energy you have left unused at a certain point in the day. There's a certain hormone your body makes (I don't remember what it's called) that wakes you up and helps you focus. During adolescence through your twenties, this hormone is produced later in the day--and we really mess with our circadian rhythms in those years, let me tell you--so you have more energy and focus during the afternoons and nights. Obviously, it's a lot more enjoyable to do things when you have the mental, physical, and emotional energy to do them.

I worked at a DQ for 2 years. Opening is much better. Closing is alot of work due to how much grease and ice cream need to be cleaned every night. Morning is nice because stuff should be stocked, so you just do your job ez pz.

That’s exactly how me and my fiancé are, we loved working nights and even overnights then for some reason working 5am to 1:30pm just felt so much better. It’s almost like getting the hard work done early to enjoy the rest of the day is so much better lol

Most closing shifts entail a lot of the grunt work. Cleaning, reports, restocking, etc.

Closing. I wake up @630am. I get my to do list done in the early morning 8am. Head to the gym 9am. Take my light nap Drink LOADS of water before work.. By the time I get to work, my mindset is set and it's more clear. However, I go home by 9pm. Go to bed @ 11pm. I think as long as you are consistent, hit the goals, and be open of sudden changes it doesn't matter what shift you prefer. But this is my schedule.

I'm a night owl, but when I worked at AMC opening shifts were so much better because closing was a pain in the ass. The assistant manager was especially bitchy for no reason at night, and if you were over 18 she wouldn't let you go until everything was clean. You could be done with your task but have to wait for the dishwashers to finish. Sometimes you wouldn't go home till 2 am, eventhough your shift was supposed to end at 11. It took this long because they never scheduled enough people to close, virtually leaving only like 4 people to clean the theater and kitchen (because they manager would never help)

I hate night shifts. I also work at DQ. I most definitely shouldn’t say I’m beautiful but I’m kinda pretty. Once a group of guys came in while I was at the reguster sorting some loose change. They tried to force behind the counter and I thank the Heavens that my male coworker was there. He was tall and strong. He walked up behind me and told me to go to the back. He then proceeded to tell them we are closed and come back tomorrow. Will not work night shifts.

In bakery everyone always wanted the morning shift (6-14) because they said "they want to have something left of the day" which I found great, because I wanted the afternoono shift. In morning you would have to make breakfast for customers which stressed me a LOT while in afternoon you only had to serve cake and coffee which to me was much easier than 203838 people counting 40 ingredients they want for their breakfast xD nobody could understand this because they said afternoon is best time of the day. I disagree. I am a night owl and morning is horrible for me since I prefer to stay up late, so there was not a single thing good about morning shift for me
