I'd love to see a slip lane go under the arterial bundle to join the highway so those oil tankers can get on it sooner. It wouldn't need to be an omnidirectional thing, just a single slip lane for the oil tankers to head out east

Another great video! In the new area you could build an older city center that lost prominence due to the construction of the airport and all the noise and height restrictions associated with it. Maybe more industrial older looking buildings while the other area would have skyscrapers and offices

The tiered artery is definitely the highlight of this part of the city. I still think the little peninsula is good for some ultra-wealthy beach-side property and art-deco builds like what you'd see on Miami Beach. The little islands in the delta could similarly be repurposed into a low-density green canal district, similar to Balboa Peninsula and Island in California.
@LeatherneckDumpster2 ай бұрын
That's what I did with that Peninsula, used the beach front pack signature buildings, some hotels, small commercial and residential. Definitely has a that single road small-town East Coast Carolina shore front vibe!

small note... the diverging diamond isnt supposed to look like that... due to a issue the lower networks turn to tunnels even when they arent supposed to, can be fixed by flattening the terrain like teddy mentioned in his video

I think with the arterial the bike path should be in the middle while roads have no bike lanes, because that arterial may as well be a highway, it would look cool and be safer
@adamjones18052 ай бұрын
Really like the road networking. Teddy's interchanges look great and have really come in handy. I've used a couple in my city as well. The layering of your infrastructure is awesome! My only thinking is that I probably would've turned the highway a little earlier, and bulldozed out the divided area of the highway and just had it going almost straight on. Free up even more land near the water. I also would've maybe created a sort of mini spaghetti Junction with the arterial having connections to the highway. Add even more layering! Lol! But really enjoyed watching this episode. Transport network planning is always interesting.👍

Love love love all the layers! So much satisfaction watching this episode! For near the airport we have lots of DFO shopping centrs (direct dactory outlets) so a mix of shopping, industrial evolution and mall asset could be a good idea near the airport :) the modern warehouse looking Industrial evolution assets are perfect for DFO vibe.
@simonsv94492 ай бұрын
When you build the airport, it’s important that you consider building heights in the area around it. I suggest to limit the area to low density as the buildings aren’t as tall and the planes will be able to take off more freely.

As a suggestion for the new shore area, maybe a financial district next to the airport? Like how City airport is situated right near the city of London/Canary warf . You could even build some completely inappropriately sized tower blocks on some of the islands in the river, like they have done on Leamouth Peninsula

I'm really enjoying Rannoch, what a lovely city! I like your suggestion of a mini-downtown near the airport. If Rannoch were my city, I'd probably build a tourist town near the airport to give travelers a reason to come and a place to stay when they arrive. Builds with a main large downtown and a second or third smaller downtowns are my favorite and how I always build my own cities. Perhaps Bartlesville, OK would be some good inspiration (home to the Price Tower Arts Center).

Building on console remastered, so no where near as nice as your build, but I love waiting a few episodes, work on my build, the come back and see how I grew organically different than yours! Actually been using your idea about parralel transportation networks in my favorite city Trinity Haven (Also boreal, a map from Plazas & Promenades that i forgot the name of). My downtown and my starting town will be on two different sides of a bay, so i have built two different infrastructure crossings: • Four Lane Two Way Highway + Train tracks + Metro Tracks • Southbound and Northbound two-lane one-way highway + Two-way Bus Expressway + Power Line Also found an easy and nice build hack. By doing multiple short power lines and having fences around and between each individual one, you can create kind of a transformer-looking thing in CS1!
