I was a medic in a conventional unit assigned to special forces and special operations training sites, in part because I was on an ambulance crew (which these groups didn't have when I was in) and in part because I spoke 2 eastern European languages at the height of the Cold War. I was just a dumb kid awed by these elite soldiers. The main take-away I had was that I was never talked down to. Every place I went, I was treated with respect and taken under the wing of the guys I was providing coverage for, even though they had their own medics that had far superior training to anything I had. The guys were family men, mostly religious, and many enlisted guys had degrees. I never witnessed anything like this video, and I wasn't even a JTAC. The guys I always saw were humble but tough, had a great sense of humor, and their eliteness didn't go their heads. They treated me with respect and didn't need to put on a tough act even though these were the toughest guys I ever met.

You were a medic, that makes a lot of difference as to how you are treated. I was a Navy corpsman (EMT, Medic, advanced training as an O.R.tech) had a few unusual assignments and special duty/unit attachments. So many gigs in the clip before they exit the aircraft. If 02 is required they would have donned their masks much earlier. If 3000 AGL was the initiation of the pull sequence and he fumbled with his pull handle like that, he would have been down to around 1500-1000 AGL and his Cyprus would have deployed his reserve. He could have also been the lowest under canopy and the rest of the team would have to fly their canopies to him. Chances are likely they would land way short of their intended landing zone. Also, the aircraft cabin would not be pressurized and no casual conversations would be taking place. Last but not least, the jumpmaster , or lack thereof, did not perform his duties.

Disappointed as it strayed from realism almost immediately. If it was a sterilized mission, they wouldn't have waited to tell him on the f-in plane for crying out loud. Second, they wouldn't have any doubt about a "rookie operator" because no operator is a rookie due to their intense training. Lastly, they wouldn't just throw in some newbie on a team without integrating him before hand. They're making this movie look like something comparable to if Rambo and Heartbreak Ridge had a baby. Very disappointing. I HATE movies like this. If you're going to go for over the top fictitious b.s., then SELL it as fictitious b.s., not some realistic reflection on operators, because it's not.

What does a sterilized mission mean?
@Cornpop3208 ай бұрын
It means that the country's markings/flags and soldiers names/ranks, dogtags, anything identifying them, etc. are stripped from the uniform which means that the country facilitating the mission (in this case, the U.S.) would deny their involvement and the men would be on their own if captured. Basically, the nation is, or might, commit war crimes facilitating the mission or in the action itself. So being in sterilized uniforms protects a nation from being brought up on those war crimes as they can claim no connection, or knowledge of the mission and what happened during it.@@KonaLife

This would've made a great movie start for a Predator remake.

Rule of thumb: when there's Luke or Liam Hemsworth in it, it ain't good. Much. Sorry to say but that's how it is.

The editing sucks, you see Russell putting on the white glove after he was already shown wearing it. Another dei bomb from Hollywood.
