The one thing that fascinates me about this is that Brainy figured the Anti-Life Equation, something that not even Darkseid has figured out. Damn brainy. You better hope darkseid never learns about this or finds you

They formed a truce. They work with each other to conquer the galaxy with a final showdown, earth vs apocalypse. This final battle would determine who would reign supreme. If Darkseid wins the Anti-life equation rules absolute but, if Savage and earth win then the Anti-life equation never comes to pass. This truce only remains in place as long as Savage is alive. If he dies then earth is no longer protected and Darkseid has free reign to conquer earth.
