Great loco, love the 08. I've recently got hold of the N gauge version that Bachmann (or Farish) do...even managed to solder a chip in, as it has no socket, to get it running on DCC :)

Not to sound like a smart arse but Graham Farish is Bachmann but there trains are in N gauge they are made in the same work shop as all the OO gauge trains are Sorry if I sound rude ;)

"How many locos do you know that run this smoothly this slowly on DC" This one, and the Hornby J15. I got the J15 to go from one sleeper to the next in 6 SECONDS! on DC using an old H&M "Clipper" (I highly recommend it for slow DC running)

I think you should just gently weather the bottom portion near the wheels. I also think you should see which class 08 is the strongest, especially now that the class 11 is having a service in crewe works and can be included in the test.

I have a Bachmann dmu and it has got very smooth dc running. How do Bachmann make such a quiet runner so strong. You should weather the bogie at the bottom and maybe fit it with dcc sound as it would definitely deserve it.

ive got the bachmann class 08 BR green number of the loco D3986 the windows on the side poped of and they rattle inside the cab can you tell me how to fix this

+Joshua Hipkiss Tip the loco upside down then jiggle it gently to get the windows out of the cab, buy a tub of humbrol clear fix ( a plastic adhesive that is transparent when it drys). Swab it around the window holes with a cocktail stick then replace the windows in the appropriate holes and allow the clear fix to dry over night. It will stick the windows in place without frosting them up unlike most modelling adhesives.
