👍Great vid Will, interesting to see a loco from someone other than Hornby/Bachmann, and the smooth running...almost silent! Also - PAGING WILL - the end card elements aren't showing, you may not have set them (I always forget to!) 🚂

Hornby make one too I believe, if you get the oxford rail or the Hornby version get it in LSWR green. It is a beautiful color that suits it very well

Radial tank = the axles can slide horizontally within the bogie frame to compensate for tight curves. Similar technology was used on various tramcars.

I wish my DCC locos ran with such good speed, smoothness and silence (apart from the wheel/rail contact - which is all you want). So! Guagemaster,, Oxford Rail, and DC...perfect. Thanks.
@AstraGTE19916 жыл бұрын
I had an oxford rail Adams tank. It was garbage working on Dcc even after sending it back and getting another. Nice die cast body however! Although I would go with the Hornby one over the oxford rail.

I have the Oxford Rail Adams Radial and its one of my best runners, love the loco with no issues.
@andrewguttry68866 жыл бұрын
I have the three BR livery models; all are good, quiet runners with nicely geared motors. The only one which gave me any trouble is 30583 (preserved on the Bluebell but out of service), with the smaller diameter radial axle wheels. It is VERY sensitive to uneven track, so unless yours is perfectly flat it'll stall on any slight unevenness and spin its wheels.
@mattlander91196 жыл бұрын
Andrew Guttry it was the front bogie not having enough up/down movement that caused the issues on uneven track

intercity82 you don't have AC ?
@icychopstix6 жыл бұрын
AC isn't very common in the UK. houses are generally not built with it installed, commercial buildings are though.
@ronclark97246 жыл бұрын
Many in Europe don't have air conditioning. More do in Spain and Italy, but not even a majority do there... I find Europeans saying 20 degrees Celsius is hot a bit strange, as 35 to 40 degrees Celsius is normal during the summer in Texas... Just about every home in Texas has air conditioning.
@ModelMinutes6 жыл бұрын
The nature of the U.K. Weather is very changeable, which is where the stereotype of the British always talking about the weather comes from - because it's a hot topic. It can even vary by region, floods in the south and drought in the north. With this in mind, we tend to prepare for a bit of everything, which is why we're never fully ready for super hot summer, or snow in the winter. I thought about buying AC, but would only probably use it a few weeks or even days each year, which wouldn't justify the expenditure
@MalcolmCrabbe6 жыл бұрын
Normally in the UK, these "heat waves" tend to last no more than a few days, often ending a thunderstorm, followed by a cold front. For the UK to have three weeks or more of dry warm (27c - 33c) is rare, so most of us in the UK don't invest in AC. We're British, we grin and bare the heat with a stiff upper lip :)

@theavocetpannier846 жыл бұрын
I have had mine for over a year and it has been in the work shop more times then I can remember it has so many problems and servicing it is a nightmare the back bogie is not sprung which means on track that is not level it gets stuck the pulling power is next to nothing as I put my usual 3 coaches on and it struggles. If you want a good one but the Hornby one. It is so much better. This is coming from my personal experience om a proper layout .

Theres a new steam locomotive being built in britain, a p2 class, its going to be the strongest british steam locomotive, stronger than the 9f, and i think the biggest, designed by nigel gresley. Currently they are all scrapped.

This model looks very good in BR Black it just needs some coaches to go with it now. There is a Lime Green version but this model looks better in BR Black. How many of your EWS wagons with the stones in would this model be able to pull ? Your own Adams radial tank engine of course not this model.
