I clicked so quick to see if you send to Italy, but no! I looked up the location and it's 5h from where I'm at (Ud) but I understand it's an online shop?! Do you think you will ship in the future also to other places? Like, should I hang on and wait? Anyway best of luck!!

If your store does well, you could bulk ship an inventory to a handler in the US who could ship products locally. You would need amazon style demand metrics for it to work profitably.

Great advice and spot on the mark. I am a 65yo male who has sat behind a desk for the past 20 years, so I'm not particularly fit. I was introduced to field archery a year ago, and having watched some YT videos, I decided to buy a Samick Sage @ 35lbs, big mistake. I was able to pull it back, but I found I was shaking and unable to perfect my form. I bought a set of 25lbs limbs and used those for about 6 months before moving back to the 35lb limbs. This was much better, and I am now shooting quite well. I will move up to 40lbs next year, and that will be my limit. I use commercial arrows (Sharrow 500), but as I have a short draw, I shorten them to 29.5" which I find good for me. Good luck with your new store, and I wish you great success 🤞👍👍

Good Luck with the archery shop. I hope you find success. You would likely get some orders from the states because you are you, but you are right about the economic realities of trying to sell in the states. I found my first bow (a 15lb fiberglass recurve) in the trash in the early to mid 80s when I was still only around 8 or so years old. it was too much for me until I was around 13 or 14. Truth is a toy bow is a good starting place for a young kid. Work with them on form and safety (including inspecting their equipment before every use always inspect the bow and string before each session and the arrows before each round (or group of shots)) while they are using the suction cup arrows on a target on the wall 8-10 feet away, then move up to a better youth bow. Men, seriously consider this, I shot a 25lb recurve bow at paper targets for a couple decades starting in my late teens and continuing into my late 30s when I got my first longbow. I still shoot a 35lb longbow at paper targets, but I have a 30ish year old 55-60lb compound bow that weighs a ton for hunting, though in my state we can use crossbow in archery season, and I use one as my primary hunting bow because they have higher FPS. The light bows let me focus more easily on my form when practicing. Between my 25lb recurve, my 35lb longbow, my 55-60lb compound bow, and my crossbow, my 25lb recurve is better for small game as it is smaller than my longbow and about the same weight and speed, but my crossbow is the hands down winner for deer hunting due to it having much higher arrow speed since it is legal in my state and it has the added advantage that as I get older I can still cock it while in time a traditional or even compound bow will become harder to draw, though newer compound bows are still a solid choice.

Lilly has mentioned it is not legal to hunt using archery where she lives, so that part is moot apparently. I like to watch the competition archery using recurve bows here on KZbin. Also the Japanese traditional-archery stuff. It's a wonderful sport whatever way you choose to do it.

Dear Lily, I really appreciate everything you do and thank you for it. I'm part of the recurve team myself. Check out backyard bowman for polypropylene homemade string if you're in a tough spot. I'd try cat gut if I really had to. There's also wind arrows without Fletching but I never tried. Flamingoes and seagulls in my neck of the woods. They might have good feathers. As for the toughest part, the broadhead, if you don't know how to knap flint or glass I guess the best bet is some kind of razor blade insert. The tip I got for you: if adding weight on either side is necessary making an epoxy paste ring or notch can help. The bad news is we'll be out of targets before we're out of arrows. Best of luck for your commercial endeavours.

Lilly, I wish you the best in this venture. I started watching you for the archery. I picked up a 35-lb bow similar to the one you're shooting and followed a lot of the techniques you show, and as I watched how you hold yourself. I now have a 50-lb recurve that was expensive but a pure joy to shoot. Thank you for the joy you brought me and my grandson who want to shoot like Paw-Paw, however I hope one day I am as good as you.🤔😀

A new Bear bow that sold in the 1970s for $50 can still be bought used at a pawn shop or ebay today for pretty much the same price, crossbows are super popular now in the USA, if you could use bows for hunting in Europe, your business would have more customers. Bear archery used to have a museum in Grayling Michigan, but the company moved production down to Florida.
