Droplets magnifying and scorching your leaves is a myth. Think about showers on hot sunny day: no damage. Always try to water the roots, the leaves don’t really need a drink but it doesn’t harm them. The main reason to water in the morning is evaporation, it’s less wasteful to water in the morning when it is cool. Watering in the evening is fine but it does encourage slugs and snails.

Just a little sidenote, you might want to put the candle in a bag before putting it in the box because if it gets hot, the wax might melt and get over everything.. what a beautiful idea and a beautiful box

If you do a renewal ceremony in future, that would be a lovely place to wear the bow veil. The candle needs to be stored elsewhere, upright in its own enclosed box in a dark, cool, low humidity space. If you leave it in that box on its side, any change in temperature that causes it to sweat/melt/evaporate will get wax and oils and scent on everything and ruin them. As the candle ages, the scent will separate, oxidation happens, and so on. Better you use it at special moments than store it unused forever and it "goes bad," for lack of a better term.

Hi Josie in answer to what does a salad spinner do? Basically it's like a mini washing machine for your lettuce. It cleans, and dries your lettuce the spinner action does it all. Hope this helps ❤

Yes, you clean the greens and spinner dries the leaves. It is a faux pas to serve wilted leaves or greens with water droplets. Dryer leaves also accept dressing more evenly and doesn't water down the solution.

Agreed, re salad spinners, Josie! Yes you have to wash the leaves first, but I never find the spinners remove all of the water. I find it’s much quicker, w messier and more effective to dry the leaves on a tea towel, gently dabbing them on top

The salad spinner is for washing & throughly drying your choice of salad leaves. Plunge your leaves into some cold water, dont rinse them under fast or too pressure used water, that will potentially bruise your leaves. Then once you have plunged them in the water lift out place in the spinner and spin a few times, this will remove any dirt that hasn't been removed from plunging, also it allows the dressing to coat the leaves better, as there is no excess water left behind The salad spinner is really a continental gadget, being half French, my brother & I used to fight over who would spin the salad. You can use it for other things like if you were making Rösti, to remove the starchy water from rinsing grated potatoes. Good for a cucumber raita to removes salted excess water.....washing delicate fruits too.

The spinner is just for drying. I’m not a person that likes kitchen gadgets but this is one I consider essential. Especially if you make larger salads that you want to last a couple of days. The drier the leaves are the longer they last and stay crisp.

Josie I used my salad spinner to wash and dry my produce. Ill sprinkle some veggie wash on the produce and rince it in the bowl so i dont waste water running each thing under the tap. Then you pick up the basket and tip the water and spin to dry. It probably feels a bit superfulous for you since your eating all your fresh garden veg and you just need a quick rinse!
