Josie riboflavin is Vitamin B2. It is a key component of coenzymes involved with the growth of cells, energy production, and the breakdown of fats, steroids, and medications. I applaud you in checking ingredients but there are many which are good for us which may sound unfamiliar and won’t be found in your kitchen cupboard except in supplements

I think the potassium something or other ? Ha was ok too !? I remember hearing sees oils are bad darn it! But I also remember I was told coconut oil was bad? But now it’s good !? Idk 🤷‍♀️ ha I do know? Since going very limited processed low sugar and fats I don’t watch at all ( olive coconut ) my cholesterol went way down and my sugars as well! Yay so it’s really sugar processed and too many naughty carbs for me ! I also had a shortage of my B vitamins

@@heavenj7 🥥 coconut oil is good for people with Alzheimer's. It helps prevent Alzheimer's disease from progressing quickly and, in many people, the disease stagnates quite a bit. In America we used it for cooking instead of other oils.

The reason why those ingredients are added is because oats can't be made into a creamy. nutritious milk without them.

Hopefully she will take these comments from professionals positively as they are not attacks, just words of caution. And we can all continue to enjoy her lovely videos.

Hi Josie, love your videos ✨ Just coming in with my dietitian head on, please please be cautious with these messages you’re hearing about nutrition and the statements about things being good / bad for you. Just to summarise, foods don’t have morals, none are good or bad, healthy or unhealthy. Unless you have an allergy, there are no foods which we should avoid, it’s about the balance of your whole diet and ultimately what foods you enjoy eating! For example, more ‘processed’ plant milks are more nutrient dense, as organic versions won’t be fortified with the vitamins/minerals cows milk naturally have. Over analysing labels can become a dangerous game! When seeking nutrition advise, this should only come from registered dietitians or nutritionists xx

Hi Josie I’m afraid you are wrong about rapeseed oil . If you buy a good quality cold pressed one as you would an olive oil , it is actually healthier than olive . It is also good for cooking as it has a higher smoke point . I always buy it over olive oil as it is grown in the uk and like to support uk brands . I also live in Lincolnshire which has a large arable farming community xxxx

Hi Josie from a biochemist student! I saw your concern for some ingredients but many are just “untypical”. Calcium carbonate is a supplement of calcium, it’s a natural mineral of calcium. Calcium phosphate is another mineral of calcium supplement derived from phosphate rocks if vegetarian. Potassium iodide - it’s what’s used in iodized salts to prevent a lack of iodine, if it occurs you get an enlargement of the thyroid gland. And riboflavin is just B2, it helps us convert starches from carbs into glucose, so our body can use it for energy. Hope this helps make your lattes more enjoyable!
@lexibaldwin9313
@lexibaldwin9313 Жыл бұрын
Untypical in the sense we don’t normally use them knowingly at home, not untypical as they’re not vastly used in foods. Sorry I just wanted to clarify

Well if you're of my generation , as children, we read milk cartons and cereal boxes at breakfast to avoid your annoying siblings so I knew that there was Riboflavin in milk and in my cereal. Riboflavin is Vitamin B2 . It is needed to help break down carbohydrates, proteins, and fats. It also makes it possible for oxygen to be used by your body...so not a bad thing..as your body needs it to function. :)))

Your gardening knowledge is really growing - well done. You can sow seeds later than this even into the autumn depending on the varieties. Try sweet peas in the autumn for early flowers next year, or mixed salad leaves for cut and come again in the greenhouse in the cooler months. You can also plant biennials which will flower next summer if you are quick as they really should go in by the end of this month. Lastly, I tend to grow a late sowing of peas which will then crop until the frosts (I sow peas 3 times during the season). Soon it’ll be the best time to take cuttings of all the pants you love - it’ll save money on all those trips to the garden centre! plants for free!

Nothing wrong with the Welsh, I was born in England, but moved to Wales at 3 months and lived there until I was 21. One of my pet peeves is that people born in England think they're English, and not British! Until this changes, the Welsh, Scottish and Northern Irish wont feel part of the whole.(And don't get me started on Danish news presenters who call the whole country England as Storbritannien, the Danish version of Great Britain, is too much of a mouth full).
@tamaracarter1836
@tamaracarter1836 Жыл бұрын
@@danishpastry6137 People born in England *are* English and should be proud to call themselves English (“British” only refers to the overall island of Great Britain and not to their own individual country and culture: England/ Scotland/ Wales). If you have such a problem with it, then you should be telling people from Scotland and Wales that they should identify as “British” instead, as they are the ones that do so less than people from England.

Processed means nothing, if I get rolled and chopped oats, they are processed, only ingredient, OATS. If I then add milk and a touch of sugar and cook it, it is even more processed. Processed does not mean something is bad. Also Rapeseed oil is indeed linked to heartdisease, IN HUGE DOSES. So is Olive oil, Sunflower oil, etc. Btw. Olive oil is also processed. Coffee is processed, regular milk is processed. It is also all full of chemicals, because H2O is a chemical.
@illusion513
@illusion513 Жыл бұрын
Also please note this is not meant to be mean! I'm just concerned and it's important not to spread misinformation and nutritional fearmongering! I honestly love your content, but this bit just bothers me a little bit. I'm sure by processed you mean like crisps and that sort of thing, instead of olive oil etc. But it can bring about a lot of confusion.

@danishpastry6137
@danishpastry6137 Жыл бұрын
I'm not sure I agree, I have square raised beds, but I don't think I get any more in them than if they were long. The major disadvantage of square beds is that it is difficult reach the middle, hence the stepping stones that Josie has (and I could do with), they take up valuable growing space. My beds are only 2x2m, I probably should have made then 1.5x1.5m, Josie's are probably 3x3m (maybe more). The advantage of my square beds is that each square has a different type of crop, which makes crop rotation very easy, as I don't need to remember a complicated planting system.

I drink an oat milk that just has oats and water but it does have a very high sugar content compared to Oatly. Calcium carbonate is just calcium added to it and riboflavin is also just a nutrient (vitamin B2) while the oil is in far too small of an amount to be harmful and also has healthy omega fatty acids. The only added ingredients are added nutrients just like taking a daily vitamin.

Hey, just a tip on other non-dairy milk options without compromising creaminess, try cashew milk (specifically brands that consist of only cashews and water). No oils or other unwanted ingredients. There's a brand available in the US called Elmhurst that has lovely options. The cashew milk holds a froth when steaming milk for lattes/cappuccinos. I highly recommend. Otherwise, it's very simple to make at home 😊

Hi Josie how much better could your vlogs get! Loving you and Charlie in them together loving the banter between you so funny!! Loved Charlie wanting to save “wonga” lol 😂 we all want that 🤣….your dress are gorgeous they look great against your tan! …garden is looking lush even if some of the veg have bolted looks so healthy! ……I must make some flavoured oils! I’ve been thinking of this for a while but not done it yet! But will now and some flavoured butter with herbs! Can I ask please I’m guessing 💯 trust your olive oil you used as I’ve been reading about how some olive oils are not virgin oil but sold as that! apparently a lot of oils were tested but failed the standard required to be called virgin oil. Xx 😘
