20:13 since no one has pointed it out, this little blue guy is Doraemon, a blue robotic cat with no ears (but special powers) that travels back in time from the future to help a little boy. The character is from a manga/comic/animated series of the same name. He's super popular in Asia (created in the 1960's-70's) and is sometimes considered the "Asian Mickey Mouse". I remember watching the animated tv show as a kid. :)

Happy Birthday! Shopping in Asia is incredible! I'm Asian Canadian and shopping at home is boring, all the same stores on the same streets, malls, etc. Whenever I go to Asia, I try to get an item I need custom made for me. Glad you discovered Gentle Monsters! Love the brand!

I have a tip- when I have to pack handbags in my luggage when I buy a new one abroad, I usually stuff the handbag with other clothes that I brought with me and it helps the bags keep the shape in my suitcase in a very space-efficient manner.

For the bag within a bag situation. Use your tshirts and socks etc to stuff the bags. Same goes for shoes, rolled up tshirts or socks. I literally put two backpacks in my suitcase, and fill them with stuff. Also, if you have a purse on you, take it's dustbag or like a cloth bag, keep it folded inside the purse, and just use it to protect and keep yuur bag clean at the airport, sometimes I even sit my bags on a folded dustbag when I have to put them down on a rough surface.

Love this haul Sophie, happy belated birthday! Just an FYI, they do sell Gentle Monster (Korean brand) in Selfridges. Also I really feel like you would love Seoul, South Korea based on your purchases. Gentle Monster have a sister fragrance brand named Tamburins, and a bakery named Nudake. The thinking being that Gentle Monster is the sense of sight, Tamburins is smell and Nudake is taste. You might really like those brands too. Asia is definitely under a Labubu craze right now! I wasn't able to get any here in New York, so I ended up purchasing mine for an obscene price on eBay. 😭

Love the bags! That vintage Dior logo😍 I only buy my vintage luxury bags from Japanese resellers. The bags are usually in pristine condition and they take fakes very seriously. The currency exchange is very favorable here in the U.S as well. Hope you had a fabulous birthday!

Hi Sophie, I myself, just got back from a trip to China to see family and friends and just wanted to thank you on some of the points made in this video. I've grown kind of tired of seeing the items put out from the traditional high street retailers like H&M and Zara; while I was in Shanghai and Hangzhou, I was pleasantly surprised by the domestic retailer's quality of clothing and items available in shopping malls and boutiques. The quality is amazing, so many manufacturers use 100% cashmere and wool in their items and its a real shame that here in the West we're stuck with polyester and other terrible fabrics in our clothing.

Shopping in Japan is always fabulous! My husband recently was there and brought me back a Japan domestic market Seiko. Seikos that are only sold in Japan. Absolutely beautiful and I use it on days when I don’t feel like wearing my Cartier. Great haul! Fun to watch!

WHOA! Fantastic suit omg! The 🇯🇵 bag is cute! Notice how they pay so much attention to the inner bag compartments and lining? Japanese REALLY take care of their stuff, that’s why all the gear in The many second hand shops is looking great. In September, I went to 30+ second hand shops in Tokyo, won’t mention the names here. Before the plandemic when i shopped there , i swear it was half as cheap as now. All the foreigners know about it now and they really jacked up the prices.
