OpenIPC EMAX Wyvern 20Mbps

In this video we are doing some test flights with 20Mbps video bitrate using the EMAX Wyvern Nano OpenIPC camera.
The total bitrate that is transferred through the WFB-ng link is +30% (~26Mbps) of the video bitrate. This is due to FEC packets, the headers and the telemetry .
We could use antennas with higher gain to improve the range and eliminate the glitches.
Also a second RX module on the VRX (+10$ cost) would improve the stream reception dramatically.

The OSD is rendered on the Radxa Groundstation and that’s why it is not printed on the DVR. There is an option to print it on the DVR if we enable the rendering on the Air unit.
OpenIPC FPV is the cheapest digital FPV system in the world!

Great job, Mario! I’m facing an issue and hope you can help. I’m using the Emax Wyvern VTX 100mW and a VRX connected to my Quest 3 through the PixelPilot app. When I change the bandwidth setting from 20MHz to 40MHz, no image appears. I have set it to 720p, 120fps, 20Mbps, MCS3, 40MHz, FEC 13/15, LDPC/STBC 1/1. I’m also using the latest version of PixelPilot where I set the bandwidth to 40MHz and the channel to 60. Any idea what might be causing the problem?

Only 8812au supports 40mhz mode right now. So only wyvern 800mW can do this out of the box.

This transmitter is 100mW which is more than enough for a toothpick or tinywhoop. I’m not planning to do long range with that lol. I have other OpenIPC drones that can do many kilometres range and they have high TX output transmitters onboard. Watch my videos from last summer for more info. Cheers mate!😊🍻

@ftwman7644 I did 500 meters without any issue but I had to come back because the battery would die on my toothpick. Then I had to do the walk of shame lol. 100mW is enough for tiny drones.

msposd supports two modes, this is ground station mode, which renders osd on ground station. That's why DVR is not recorded.

All my KZbin videos are recorded on Groundstation. If in the future I post a video with onboard DVR I will clearly state it to avoid any confusion. If you notice even in motion the details of the glass are excellent. Cheers mate!😊🍻
