Thank you so much for creating this, I have a Razer mouse and Keyboard but Synapse is so FUNDAMENTALLY broken, that my mouse ALWAYS disconnects if I have the slightest file on my PC that is related to synapse. Now I don't have Synapse but can still enjoy really cool RGB-Pattern :D

Man, I can't believe you just did what Asus couldn't do for years, individually controllable effects on devices, without using like 5-10% CPU on a 9900k. I love it. I see that this supports some Logitech devices too, is it possible to support all Logitech stuff later or it has to be implemented for each device separately?

I opened task manager today and found some razer software running I didn't install and had previously closed razer synapse but it was continuing to run I looked at the location of what was running and in the razer file saw all sorts of crazy files in there. So I uninstalled the software and went on the hunt for something else to control my keyboard and found this. Thank you so much for this we are a little late but better late than never thank you for using your mind for good.

After months of trying to get RGB to work on my MSI motherboard with Dragon Center / MSI Center (and even other third party cr@p) and failing every time I almost got to the point of reinstalling Windows. But then I found OpenRGB smiling at me from a dark little corner on the internet. I said "what the hay" because if it didn't work I'd just reinstall, right? Man, am I glad I found you right in time. Yes, I have less hair now than I had a few months ago but then again I could've been completely bald by now because of all the frustration with MSI software.

Huge thanks for this; Razer Synapse tends to impose an absurd amount of resource overhead, to the point where it interferes with some older games (Fallout: New Vegas, for example.)

Fantastic program! Works perfectly with my Corsair Vengeance RAM. One thing I noticed is after a shutdown, the RAM wont load until I rerun the udevadm and modprobe commands. I got tired of running the commands in terminal, so wrote a simple bash script: #! /bin/bash sudo udevadm control --reload-rules sudo udevadm trigger sudo modprobe i2c-dev sudo modprobe i2c-i801 Change the i2c-i801 to the AMD version if running AMD. Anyway, hope this helps anyone with the same issue. I saved it as fix.sh and just have it run as at startup and RAM loads perfectly now.

In my new 0.7 video I mention that if you install the i2c-tools package (Debian/Ubuntu) it includes a module load configuration that automatically loads the i2c modules appropriate for your system at boot. You shouldn't need to reload rules every power cycle though, as rules are automatically loaded on boot.

Look into my Keyboard Visualizer project or the OpenRGB Effects Plugin. OpenRGB by itself will never include an effects engine. I want to keep the effects separate from the hardware control. OpenRGB provides a network based SDK for other applications to integrate with. Keyboard Visualizer is my standalone audio visualizer application that connects to OpenRGB while the Effects Plugin is a plugin that adds an effects tab to the OpenRGB GUI (and also includes a modified version of Keyboard Visualizer).

For me it only worked partially (Only on motherboard, not on AMD cooler and corsair RAM sticks). All in all this is an awesome project. Great work mate. Hope to see support for more devices and a smoother setup experience.

The X570 Gigabyte boards use a USB controller, not SMBus. You may still need the SMBus if you have RGB RAM to control.

OpenRGB doesn't support layers, as OpenRGB doesn't have an effects engine. We decided to leave that out of OpenRGB, as there are plenty of other great open source programs that integrate with OpenRGB. If you want a full-featured effects software that works with OpenRGB, check out Artemis. It can do all sorts of fancy effects and animations. Aurora is another good one. Both have layering capabilities.

Awesome stuff you're doing. After getting my first addressable RGB device (Razer Ornata V2) I decided to look into utilizing the ESP8266 to create some custom RGB lighting for my little bro, who received a non-addressable RGB keyboard for Christmas.. :sadface: Looks like OpenRGB, WLED, and Keyboard Visualizer have made it easy! Now, I just need to 3-D print a case for the ESP-01 that'll keep it safe from my rough-and-tumble 6' tall "little" bro. XD

shiiit you reminded me that running it as admin was a thing. i had a weird error in which 1 of the leds from my ak620 display wasnt working properly. it was showing a random color. sometimes yellow, sometimes pink... i had to resize the device but im not sure it was working, but it def worked now as admin. thanks!

This is awesome, but I have a couple problems, one is that my 3080 rog strix doesn't register in the app, nor does my h100i pro xt, and the other is that my glorious mouse does register, but the app has no effect on it. I got 0.4 I believe it was, because of the issue with crashing on 0.5, but I'm not sure if that issue has been ironed out yet. Regardless, fantastic work on this app! I'm really appreciative of your commitment, you're doing things gaming companies apparently can't even dream of lol.

Bro you helped alot I'm running a b450m steel legend silicon xpower rgb ram and it would not let me change the color of my ram in polychrome for the life of me your app saved me anxiety it's still bugging like I have to put one stick on static and the other on flashing to work it doesn't do the effect so it just a soild color but thats all I wanted thanks a whole bunch bro
