@@liliantso9767 . Both operas are based on plays by Beaumarchais and as plays go "The Marriage of Figaro" was the sequel to "The Barber of Seville". The play "The Barber of Seville" was first performed in public in 1775 and "The Marriage of Figaro" in 1784. As far as the operas are concerned there was an operatic version of "The Barber of Seville" written in1782, but this version is rarely performed. The version which is performed was composed in 1815. The opera "The Marriage of Figaro" was first performed in 1786.
