I love how playful and flirty his voice is in this song! While Vitas is good (it is his song after all), Dimash's voice is fuller and with a lot of overtones! He definitely had fun with this, especially with that cheeky smile! LOL Vitas only took this song up one key change. Dimash does 2 more on top of that. Fun note, you'll catch the camera quickly panning to a man off to the side. That's his dad, Kanat, who surprised Dimash by coming. He didn't appear until Dimash started, because he didn't want to make his son nervous.

i first heard the same, but then someone else commented that it was not about Vitas and Dimash themselves, but more about (poor) management of many parties involved in getting or not getting the correct rights in time to do a cover of Vitas' song in that chinese show. i don't know any details, but let's not assume that "Vitas threatened" and only be sad that some unknown people messed up the situation behind the show that lead to this song no longer be performed by Dimash ever after.

Jealousy is a stinky cologne.
@MiddleAgedBob4 жыл бұрын
@@riffgroove True, but again, there is no evidence Vitas himself was in any way involved with all of that. Let's not spread, or believe, unsupported gossip. Music labels and management do all kinds of things that the artists are unaware of or don't get involved with. In this case the Chinese contest showed failed to receive permission to air this song, which triggered the lawyers. Yes, Dimash's performance was superior to Vitas', but Vitas wrote the song and deserves to be consulted on, and compensated for, its use by TV shows making a profit off of it. Responsibility for that falls on the tv show producers.
@riffgroove4 жыл бұрын

Thanks, Maggie, for another comprehensive review. Please continue including your illustrations that help explain the mechanics of what Dimash is doing. It helps to advance a greater understanding among your viewers of the complexity within each moment in his performances. You said: "[Dimash] always seems to know exactly where his limits are." Dimash: "Maggie, please hold my beer. [Dimash sings] … Surprise!" A friend of mine and his wife were over for dinner one evening in mid-2018. I played Dimash's Opera 2 video through a projector (which made Dimash life-size) with surround sound. My friend is a structural engineer who specializes in the impact of wind, water, seismic, and sound waves on buildings. He asked me to play two sections repeatedly (in your video at 9:21 and 9:31). He said the movement of Dimash's head is involuntary. He maintained the combination of his voice with the locked openness of his jaw and soft and hard palettes that act as a megaphone for the sound waves cause his entire skull to vibrate from the intensity of the resonance. He wrote out a formula on a piece of paper and spoke about waves and simple calculus. He saw my eyes cross and glaze over. I assured him that the formula looked really pretty, but I argued there is no such thing as "simple" calculus. So he patiently explained his formula by comparing Dimash's head movement to the beams in a building vibrating from seismic activity or to the water in the glass vibrating from the heavy T-Rex steps in Jurassic Park. Your thoughts?

Wow that is interesting. I remember there was quite a debate on the head shaking with some ppl saying its bad technique (yeah from the monster of techniques) Tara Simon's take was its actually the sheer power of his voice resonating in the skull. Your friends explanation matches, even Dimash on the science says singing is a sport, training the body and those vocal muscles is part of the equation for making beautiful art with the voice.

His tone and color on those upper notes are so full and rich, it's hard to believe they're coming out of a male. That's one of my favorite noises I could listen to songs with those in it all day. He did the stops because people have accused him of Lip Syncing. Dimash has a dream to take the mantle of Michael Jackson and become this era's MJ. Dimash has been training since he was 6 years old. His mother is an Opera singer in their country. Apparently she is quite good. He has been blessed with a tidal wave of talent from his gene pool. Juxta-pose that with me, who even though there were plenty of very good genes in my pool, I got the ones that left me bereft of talent. Oh well life goes on. Since you're a trained Opera Singer, I think your next choice has to be either "Olimpico" the Arnau concert version. Not the fan cam versions as the sound quality is very poor. Or his duet with World famous Russian Soprano Aida Garifallina at the VTB Arena Ice Palace in Moscow. The song is called "Ullise" written by Russian Maestro Igor Krutoy at the piano, along with full Orchestra, Choir and World and Olympic Ice Skaters. This is a truly amazing concert performance Not to be missed. Once in a century a talent like Dimash comes along, we're all incredibly fortunate to witness it. 😊🏴👍

Maggie Reneé I strongly suggest you watch the fan cam version, its right up in his face and you can see his flawless placement and technique.

Fan cam version may be a better video, but it has poorer audio. I'd recommend what another channel did, and sync the two videos so you can use the better audio.

I am obsessed with watching people who comprehend what he is doing react for the first time hearing him. especially this song. I am not sure why though, but i got all excited when I first saw him, and I showed my husband and my son, expecting them to have that reaction.... they didn't. I don't really know how or why they don't feel it or understand the complexity so I ended up looking for reactions. after some reactions from random people with the same, "yeah he is great, sings like girl, but i don't like opera" responses. .. I decided to look up people who know what he is doing. and I love it. the reactions to him, it's incredible to see that recognition of skill. and you and a couple others are able to explain why in these, and that is something I really appreciate. It teaches all the things that go into something that is mere minutes long. They make it look easy. You make it look easy as well. underappreciated for sure.

Lovely reaction! ❤️ As an opera singer you should definitely react to "Ogni Pietra'" with Dimash. It's a opera and he sings in Italian. It's just a big GASP, and beyond beautiful. Goes from baritone-soprano. 😊 Aaand, that vibrato in those high notes - that is almost impossible for us regular humans - well he does a couple of them in "Ogni Pietra" as well. ❤️ Alien I say!

Thanks for reacting to Dimash again 😍🤩 !!! Dimash trained in classical singing and was invited to work at the Astana Opera, DQ decided to forge his career in contemporary music, incorporating classical elements and traditional Kazakh music with pop music. As your training is in classical singing, you may be interested to see it sung in that tenor, so I would recommend: Ogni Pietra / Olimpico in Italian (written for him by Igor Krutoy for the opening of the Belarus Olympic Games 2019), Passione (Italian ) also written by Krutoy for DQ and if you want something different, one but with a little bit of everything would be Your love composed by Igor Krutoy and lyrics by Lara Fabian. In a more classic order you can see it in Aida Garifullina, Lara Fabian and Dimash Kudaibergen in "Ti Amo Cosi" 😍😘😁

Thank you for your reaction!! If you want to hear Dimash going 100% operatic, you need to see "Ogni Pietra" (aka Olimpico). The version from his Astana solo concert is in my opinion the best, it's on Igor Krutoy's channel (the composer of the song).
