More Jacob Collier Please! His live version of "Little Blue" is fantastic.

I was lucky enough to be a part of that audience and gained so much confidence in my ability to sing after getting to sing alongside thousands of others that evening.

I enjoy how Jess points out the subtle details and decisions that the performers make that all add up to a truly powerful piece of music. I have always found this performance beautiful and moving and now I have all new reasons to appreciate the artistry that went into it.

In case you hadn't heard, Laufey is the most popular jazz artist around these days (according to Spotify views) even though she really isn't jazz at all. She's worth checking out along with Raye. Too many brilliant Collier songs to name them all.

I know it’s not an opera, but check out his choral arrangement of World o Worlds

It's like.... it's like music just flows through him and he can direct it anywhere. Through his fingers into any instrument, through his mouth in any style... and even through the audience, including members who didn't even know they could sing...

This was marvelous, the performance was exquisite and, as usual your reaction was both informative and expressive. I was particularly taken by the delight you showed in your face as you listened which, because you express so well, I could both sense and feel myself. Wonderfully done.

Oh, wow! What a gorgeous performance! *happy sigh* I've seen clips of Jacob conducting the audience, but never caught the whole thing. Clearly, I've been missing out! Super informative reaction, as always, Jess. I enjoyed all the singers and will definitely be diving into all the artists. If I were going to pick out a favourite part, I'd have to say... Laufey's voice. Absolutely Hear the 'pause' between ending the sound and taking a breath. I like the... movement I think this technique imparts and the anticipation it creates for the next phrase. And, omgosh, the richness of her voice! Like warm chocolate. Lol. Okay, I'm done nerding out for the moment. Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Jess!!

Kudos to Jacob and Jules Buckley for the orchestral arrangement, which he did at his concert at Royal Albert Hall several years ago.

You need to do Lisa Fischer's live version of "How Can I Ease the Pain". Even for folks like me who aren't particularly into that type of 90s R&B, it's one of the most masterful vocal performances ever. She is a vocal freak of nature.
