Eli's voice and cadence is just effortless, especially during riffs. It's timeless, works with pretty much any song he'd ever want to sing, and it's never overcomplicated or strained. It's truly delightful to listen to, and his arrangements -- like Eleanor Rigby -- are also incredible. I would actually recommend their Eleanor Rigby video, even if it's just for personal listening. Voiceplay does some seriously standout stuff.

For me any Voiceplay is good, but if you want to hear Geoff's voice being showcased, and the others in a character voice, Oogie Boogie Song. If you are interested in Disney, which they do a lot of, the Little Mermaid is very good featuring Rachel Potter who like all of their featured guests has a beautiful voice. Honestly though, any and all of Voiceplay's stuff is worth listening to. They are so talented in their arrangements as well as their singing. Oh! you might like the Phantom Of The Opera which was before J None. That also featured Rachel Potter. They did Stevie Wonder's song Superstition, and that arrangement is killer as well.

"Tennessee Whiskey" is a country song written by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove. It was originally recorded by American country music artist David Allan Coe for his album of the same name Tennessee Whiskey, whose version peaked at number 77 on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart in 1981.
@RokNDragon
@RokNDragon 3 жыл бұрын
And it is ridiculously more well known and popular because of Chris Stapleton's version..... " it eventually landed at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, despite Stapleton’s label Mercury Nashville refusing to release it as a single. Even after releasing subsequent singles from now three separate albums, “Tennessee Whiskey” still remains Chris Stapleton’s best performing song at the moment, and one of the most beloved and well-recognized songs in all of country music currently. On July 31st, the RIAA certified the song both 5-times and 6-times platinum, now making what was already a country standard one of the biggest songs in country music history"

Geoff's vowel choice for the lower notes isn't uncommon with a bass singer. We tend to go more toward an 'O' vowel with lower notes, since it's easy to do a bass note using that vowel sound. Geoff, having a 5 octave range, he is good at switching up the diphthong across his range to match the need for clarity.

I really loved your breakdown of this video, especially the detailed information on the intonation - it's easy to miss that sort of thing for my untrained ears, so having it brought to my attention is really fascinating. As for other Voiceplay suggestions, I'd recommend Queen in 5 Minutes or The Little Mermaid Medley, as Voiceplay has really mastered the art of putting together seamless transitions within their medleys. If you prefer to stick to single songs, I'd recommend Warriors (Imagine Dragons cover) or Elanor Rigby. Both are surprising in their own ways.
