@@colfy3961 that is a Male bird however the female also has the cute circle but their head feathers are grey and not yellow. The males can indeed mimic words, phrases and sing. Whereas the female cannot but they can mimic whistles. I have a female who whistles pretty. They are very friendly birds and they are as curious as a cat.

As wrapped as my heart gets when it comes to dogs,cats, birds, you name it, if they only live, captive, for less than 5 years, I'll be sure to try 5 to own one I just find myself wrapped around each one's little digits. Then, they 're gone & I wish I didn't get so over-the-moon about them..... then there's the other end of the spectrum: horses can live into their 30's! Talk about pet insurance! ( I'd have to sign mine up for Medicaid.. that's why I am pony-free )

They do this whenever they are super relaxed. There is no " voice" when they do this. Perhaps it is a form of rumination like when cows digest their food. It's just super cute to perceive and super-impose Opera "Singing" whenever they go into these modes. I used to do the same with mine, all of the time, once upon an age. 💜🦜

They are stretching their crop when they do this. They do this after every meal when they are very young. Less often as adults. I try to get mine on video when they do this because it’s cute.

This brings back memories I once had a cockatiel who are trained I haven't listened to a cassette tape whistling t u n e s the first song was Pop Goes the Weasel he has three different versions of the song in one of them he could skip right over the pop i n goes the weasel and he could do it anytime he wanted to I mean eat the rest of the song put in the pop goes the weasel whistle the second time for the Fox News Swings with whistling a third time and leave out the top I tried and it would take me 10 to 15 tries before I could do it it was a lot smarter than I was and I am not ashamed to admit
