Hello Tahu Matheson, please make more videos like this! I fully enjoyed every second of your theoretical and musical interpretation. It was so charming to watch you talk with such passion about this masterpiece. Thanks a lot!

I love that this piece was deconstructed and analyzed like it were poetry... Because it really is: poetry. The male choir, I sing for, recently started practicing this piece and I just didn't get it. Now I do. BRILLIANT EXPLANATION.

For me whilst the main theme is magnificent it's the background violins singing back up which moves me.

This was incredible, thank you. I only just started learning about Wagner and this opened the door beautifully.

Tahu, I appreciate your wonderful interpretations and explanations. Very sensible, clear, reasonable, but revealing in a rather haunting way. The idea of an unconsciousness which influences our compositions is compelling. It is not enough to say music represents the emotions. It represents the unknown, unseen forces that excite the emotions. Instead of asking of a composer, "What was he thinking?" we now must ask what was making him think that way! I must also do the same with my music - revisit it and ask, "Where is the unconscious signature of this piece?" Well done, Maestro. Thank you.

He seems to be unable to play the Venusberg music, which is horribly difficult.
