Operating the VFD with Control Terminals

In this tutorial video we will learn how to use VFD (Variable Frequency Drive) OR AC Drive with terminal operation. We have considered 1-phase input and 3-phase output drive, however the concept will be same for all other make VFDs.

What is purpose on / off push button as you start and stop drive using 2way selector switch then why are you use push button

hello sir i juSt want ask about the ampere draw, when we start the induction motor the starting current 5x the rated current. in this also the current draw by the vfd fr the aupply? if the rated current of induction motor is 8amp the starting current is reaching 38amp what vfd current do i need to use?

When we use vfd, we don't get peak current at the starting of motor. In vfd, current will reach from 0-8amps as in your case of using vfd.

Can we use single VFD to control 2 motor of different rating

Let's say 5HP and 10HP are two motors. So we have to use 15HP VFD to run both the motor from single VFD. But in this case, both the motors will run at the same speed. Also there will be no protection applicable to any motor from the VFD side.

With this being a "training" video... it might be worth turning off the power before wiring! You're going to get somebody killed that does not know better.

Hahaha. Changing control wiring connections when drive is ON will not kill anybody. But it is always safe to do with powering OFF ac drive

@@starautomation i know that. But someone less knowledgable might think that the 3ph wires are also safe to move while powered on.
