Seeing the belt fed LMGs chamber the first round is such a nice detail
@epj02117 ай бұрын
Despite the fact that only one of these LMGs can actually chamber a round, that being the M1919. And the fact that they also lack wet/dry reloads, so their bolts inexplicably close when you go to replace a partially-spent belt.
@beingsactual6 ай бұрын
@@epj0211 The PK also needs to be "fed" a round from empty. While it fires from an open bolt and rests on an empty chamber, it still retains a cartridge in the gun, in that claw that pulls the rimmed rounds back from the belt.

FWIW, no major production revolver design in the last 100 years lets you dislocate the cylinder to reload with the hammer half-cocked. The hammer has to be all the way forward to disengage the cylinder disconnect safety. Also, the P38 was made exclusively by Walther, the "Luger" comes from the caliber of the round "9mm Luger" since it was invented by Georg Luger for use in the PO8 Luger.

Inaccuracies that I could spot: All weapons that use the 1911’s animations lack trigger discipline. Revolvers can open their cylinders despite being cocked. The Tokarev is held in a teacup grip. The .45ACP revolver doesn’t use moon-clips (I think the revolver uses .45ACP). The P38 is called a “Luger” and doesn’t have trigger discipline. The HK417 (the first one) slap misses its bolt release. The AR-15 military rifles don’t use their forward-assist after an empty reload. No weapon adopted by the USSR has been designated “AK-47”, it should be called just AK or Type-3 AK. The SA58 doesn’t use its magazine release. The STG doesn’t use its magazine release, or pull back its bolt. The BAR doesn’t pull its bolt back nearly far enough. The MP5 says full-auto on the HUD despite its fire selector being on semi-auto. Each PPSH has only a single drum which it is fitted to, coming across a second drum that fits and feeds reliably is rare. The M14 doesn’t rock its magazine out. The M1A1 carbine doesn’t use its magazine release. The SKS can incorrectly lock open on a non-empty magazine. The M60 should rack its bolt before EVERY reload. The M1919 racks its bolt after every reload. (Applies to most LMGs.) The Chauchat doesn’t pull its bolt back on an empty reload. (and I’m guessing it is perfectly reliable in-game.) The DP27 doesn’t move its magazine release back, and sounds like it has a reciprocating charging handle. The rifle grenades use live rounds.

Although pretty good as a whole, with lots of love and details and being definitely a piece of work, there are some minor mistakes here and there: Great War and Second World War pistols should be held by one hand only, because that is how it used to be in military manual until 70s of last century. Cold War weapons should have the detail of the character always checking the magazine before putting it. Also I think the soldiers tended to use the charging handle rather than the bolt release on first M16s and Colt models during the time of Vietnam War, but I could be wrong. I'm not 100% sure, but if I remember correctly, M3A1 Grease Gun is not an open bolt firearm. For some reason, StG44 does not have cocking animation, perhaps just a wrong clip from the side of the video maker? (Also the player is not pressing magazine release) Although the player's holding is not incorrect, I believe lots of soldiers did have a tendency to hold the MP18 by the magazine during the times of Great War (also was a common practice with SMGs in Second World War). The older models of MP5s should have their cocking handles locked back by the person operating it with every reload, doesn't matter if it's empty or still partially full. M1A1 Carbine locks the bolt back once it's empty. M1 Garand could have eventually more animations because the bolt is a bit random in reality. Sometimes it closes back on it's own once the clip is in and sometimes it doesn't. Not sure if it depends on how well-kept the firearm is, but someone can tell me in replies. M1903 has clipping mistake. You can see player's glove when he's covering the chamber (so a cartridge won't be wasted, even though he does that with empty reload animation for some reason). Meanwhile, the player doesn't hold the Karabiner's chamber at all, and yet... No cartridge? Weird. Must be an oversight. (Same case with the M1903A4 AKA Scoped and Scoped Karabiner it seems) Okay, I am not exactly sure how SKS works. It's portrayed everywhere differently and it messes with my memory... But by a common logic, the bolt shouldn't just lock back like that when the magazine is still full. The player should hold it and insert the cartridge, then release it once he's done with it. (If I am mistaken, please do tell me.) And I am sure there are some other things that I have missed but overall? I think this game has a good future if they will keep it in good shape and take care of it. Not to mention the developers support the modding community, so this only supports the lifetime of it.

I really dont like how out of place the MP40s animation and holding pose is, it feels like they wanted to do vanguards out of era “tactical” shit but they decided to do it for like the one gun, and i guess you could argue the pistol holding is incorrect too, which it technically is for the World war era.

Like in Vanguards the MP40 is being held by the magwell which is actually the more appropriate way to hold it.

Attention to detail is pretty good but that MK18 is not correct for a Military issue MK18. Shouldn’t be a commercial Daniel Defense upper. The MOD1 uppers issued by the military are Colt M4 uppers with a Daniel rail.
