and I love the slowdown before stopping. I rarely see that with model trains; it's so effective

At 4:40 When i saw the tan brick brown roof old beer house where they also spot the potato (reefer) cars i had to watch more. You included the rusty bridge next to the tower including one of the banners they started putting up since appx. 2010. To the left of that i see the red brick former carman shanty now Conductor Engineer and Manager shanty. Since you have those NS units, you could also model the Trailmobile trains off of the NS to Minnesota or where ever the heck they went North on the New Line/Milwaukee Sub. They were discontinued about 3 or 4 years ago or so. This is a nice layout. If you ever get hold of a huge warehouse to build this actual size i'll help you build the yard every ballast hurting my feet foot by ballast hurting my feet foot.

My first time seeing this. I'm trying to model Sandwich, Illinois to Union Station, Chicago. I finally took the plunge to DCC and will never go back. For those of you that are just starting out, don't bother with DC. DCC is very simple to set up and offers so much more to the modeling hobby.

To the owner of this video. First, this is a great layout but was wondering what was your method of adding details to your UP SD70ACe's? Specifically, the dynamic brake vents as well as the rest of the vents located underneath the cab? Warm Regards

Please, i like to know what Union Pacific engine s are manufactured by. Also what track are you using. Atlas ? I am thinking about getting back into N scale in the next few years as downsizing. i collect O scale and layouts are almost impossible unless one owns a BIG house with a basement.Oh, beautiful layout

What kind of ballast do you use? I've tried woodland scenics in many colors and none turn out nearly as well as yours. Great looking layout too!
@gatblau17 жыл бұрын
Wow what a great layout. I kept having to remind myself that this is N scale. Is that Atlas code 55 or something finer? It looks great. Your freight cars seem well balanced and weighted, they don't have that unrealistic wobble you see on other N scale layouts. Great job!
@Edward-ed2oi6 жыл бұрын
Very realistic track. What type is it and what did you use for ballast? Also that water is really good, how did you do it?

Really liked your video and your trains and layout. I'm strongly considering getting into the hobby and N scale interests me as I'm military, pcs often, and can probably only use a spare room in the house (likely the smallest room). Should I go DC or DCC? I like having sounds, but I've heard folks using a cd or mp3 file that loops/plays over speakers while the train moves. Any suggestions/lessons learned? V/R, Shipmate
@EvanstonSub9 жыл бұрын
Definitely go DCC.
@shipmate35779 жыл бұрын
First, thanks for reply. Then... I'm looking at Bachmann's Golden Spike with DCC starter train set for $270. www.trainworld.com/manufacturers/model-train-starter-sets/bachmann-24131-golden-spike-with-digital-control-up/ I'm not an electrician... so I like the simplicity of hooking up to Bachmann's ez track (compared to Kato's unitrack).
