I miss running draglines, I still remember when MSHA arrived on-site and saw how young I was and couldn’t believe that I was the dragline operator 😅

It's been pretty cold for dragline work lately here in Michigan but I'm reassembling a linkbelt ls408 right now that I'll post up some videos of. Stay tuned

The client had us come back and repair that a few weeks ago. 4 cylinders had stuck valves.

Sorry I've been silent so long. I had complications with surgery. Been off work for 4 months. We pulled the v8 Murphy and half the cylinders had valves stuck open, surprised it ran at all honestly. I'll have videos up very soon within the week

Not easy to operate a mechanical dragline like this. But who said that Elton John couldn't?

Yes and the air controls make it even more difficult. So sensitive and a delay in response. I like how you can feel a all manual through the levers and pedals.

And the controls are backwards.

I ran a 190 D back in about 1989, unwillingly, because my usual dragline was a link belt 128. Standard operating pattern. Everywhere!! So, I didn't want to get acclimated to that backwards pattern. So, give me back my link belt!

@@brandonlewis6880 not really, his dad does the operating most of the time. But we r shifting from repairs to focus on running now. We have like 16 northwest cranes now and 1 operator

I hear that you have I think seven cranes now and just us two operators I finally got the northwest going that Levi help me out west so now I’m learning how to run Northwest.
