the reason the launch ran so smoothly is because they did a TON of testing. They would do large scale tests every few weeks where you could hop in and play for a few hours, and that clearly is what helped them get the servers running smoothly.

Eh, the gunplay is fine, its passable, i dont think i personally would put it up there with the best though. Maybe I'm just crazy but it kinda feels like bullets are... Too slow? Like i can be perfectly aimed at a guy who's standing still just across the street from me, and he'll straight up dodge my spray if he just happens to move even a little when i start shooting... Idk. Something about it feels weird to me, but i can't quite put my finger on it. the reason the servers worked so well day 1 is because of how much thorough play testing there was. patreon backers got access to the playtest build and OkiDoki would run tests almost every day. I think at one point they even tested a 512 or 1024 player server, just to see what would happen

Exactly, I don't care about the 8 polygons characters, the game is ultimately fun (like games are meant to be). You can tell it was made with passion and dedication. There might not be a whole lot, but each and every pixel in that game was made with love. AAA companies might never be able to replicate indie games in that way, but I know they can do great stuff because I've played Bungie's Halo games. Little Big Planet and so on. We just need people like these 3 at the head of a studio that isn't told "Focus on the in game Shop, produce X amount of $60 DLC, meet the media's criteria. I mean, have you noticed there's zero female in Battlebit? No one gives a damn cuz that is NOT what gamers care about, but somehow these very futile subjects take more place at the board of AAA companies than rather or not the game is good and polished. Because while Microsoft is looking to hire someone to make the most f'd up addictive cash grab, we got these guys making sure the gameplay feels satisfying.

I played the play test a while before the full release, these few weeks were the most fun I’ve had in an FPS since a long time man. Everybody’s (save for some people) just focused on having fun and not on winning or losing. When you die in this game it makes you go “aw shucks, I died.” Instead of having to take out your rage on your keyboard, and that’s because the experience itself is fun! Nobody really criticizes you for being bad at the game, because they’re just so absorbed in the fun. And for some reason this game makes healing people fun, after a while you start healing anybody you see even if you’re not a medic. Although I can’t afford to buy the game due to certain circumstances I have, maybe someday I can, hopefully. But, for now, it is what it is and I still hope that the community never changes.

Launching at $15 instead of $70 ✅ Low poly assets mean anyone can play it with any rig ✅ Nobody can afford powerful gaming PCs in this economy ✅ Devs care about making a complete game, instead of releasing trash and fixing it with patches ✅ Only DLC is cosmetic, no skipping grinds or overpowered card mechanics (eg Star Wars Battlefront) ✅ No half baked hero mechanics, just pick a loadout and go ✅ Classic shooter gameplay everyone wants instead of another PUBG clone ✅✅✅ FINALLY some good fking -food- gaming.

I've been following the Planetside 2 game for a while, playing on occasion when I can. The biggest appeal that game had to me was the large-scale combat, still holding the world record for the largest number of players on one map in an fps. This game looks like a successor of sorts! Sure it's not scifi, nor does it have 800 players on the map, but it still has that large-scale combat going on! Don't know if I'll get a chance to play it anytime soon, but I'm adding it to my wishlist!

The amount of playtests they did while the game was in pretty much release quality was insane. They really wanted to make sure the game launched with no hitches or issues. Enemies being able to listen to you is SO cool I was playing in some rainy field map in a 200+ player match, and as I told a teammate at a nearly empty objective that I would be going up this building, I readied my grappling hook to go to the top of the building from the outside, while the teammate started running up the stairs... and got killed by this guy who ambushed him at the stairs as he heard me talking. This enemy guy then shouted, quoting Captain Nascimento in the Brazilian movie Elite Squad in words and tone: "nobody's going up" At this point I was at the top of the building, and I struggled to keep quiet after I heard him, and finally snuck into the stairs tower, catching him from behind with my pistol (I was a sniper) as he built some sandbags, and maniacally laughing at this point. In the midst of laughter I said "what did you say again?" and he laughed his ass off "c'mon, man, I had no idea you'd be coming _down_ towards me", I couldn't stop laughing HAHAHAHAH

In total sales, as of like 5 days ago when I last read about the game, they had made around $30,000,000 in sales. Of course, server costs are large and other expenses, but spread amongst the 3 of them, it ranges somewhere in the 6-7 million per dev so far. However, big companies often got lost along the way and ended up with chuncky games that are simply not fun anymore. At this moment, Battlebit devs reconsidered the essentials that make Battlefied FUN, and merged all the good stuff into a tiny and simple game. Result? Huge success! Well done!

Totally fortified the roof, got a big supply drop straight on top and rained hell on the streets below Eventually an enemy heli caught onto us and started strafing runs, but none of us had rocket launchers, so anytime it would come by we'd all just light it up with our machine guns. Eventually someone took out the pilot, and the bird crashed into the adjacent building. Took the plunge yesterday... and the moment I set foot in the tutorial, I knew it was something special. The movement feels on point; like you have a body with real weight to it, but you're agile enough to climb over things, crawl through things, without getting stuck on scenery or wrestling with controls. The weapon animations are really good, especially considering your hands are blocks, the sounds are solid, and the visuals aren't just simple - they're perfectly calibrated. Everything looks clear and logical. And once you get into a match, it's an absolute blast. It's everything that was ever good about the Battlefield series, including the hilarious "let's just flatten the building" tactics of Bad Company 2, but it runs smooth as glass, costs next to nothing, and doesn't demand that you sell your soul to EA.

I was wanting a game like this for a long time, my dad sent it to me yesterday and I bought it immediately and it’s so much fun, crazy that 3 devs can optimize a game better than a multi million dollar studio 😂 ❤

Heli gameplay on that C point 16:00 looks like what I used to do in Bad Company 2, it was a great strat, and once you learn to control it, you are near unkillable unless you go against some God gamers

I've been playing this for about a week, I love it, 100% addicted. Done with COD and Battlefield. I appreciate the downgrading graphics to focus on amazing gameplay and they did it right.

This game is absolutely sensational and im so glad the gaming community has accepted it. I've been saying gaming is dead for a while now and this is the first game in a long while that gives me hope. This should seriously be sending a message to AAA devs.

My friend got me this game since i had it on my wishlist, and i couldnt be more happy and pleased. Goes to show you you really dont need fancy graphics or crazy attention to detail for a game to be fun (and still feel like a true battlefield/warzone type scenario). A lot of it reminds me of phantom forces, a game on roblox that some may know. But just a way bigger scale with a lot more added. Something I really like is how there seems to be some attention going towards trying to at least keep things somewhat tame, with the things you have to agree to like not saying hate speech or being too crazy offensive. I've seen quite a few people getting banned for it which means a lot to me and helps set it apart from an xbox COD lobby where you have people yelling slurs at each other and tryharding. People are just genuinely able to enjoy the game and still be goofy or roleplay instead of being pulled down or pushed away by the angry people who are playing to be abusive towards others so they can feel better about themselves.
